Beat me while I'm down. |
Because the game is on Monday, a lot of folks made it a full-out weekend. |
David's play was almost as great -- almost. I saw it a few times and I don't know how he did it. |
Eventually, we're going to start putting things together (offensively). That's the way it is. That's part of the grind. |
He was one of those dudes, good people. He always called me 'Young Stud.' I wasn't playing much when I came up with the White Sox. I'd just watch him. When I was with the White Sox, every time we'd go to Minnesota -- and we went a lot -- he'd take me and Frank Thomas to dinner. He had his own table in a restaurant. That city loved him, We all loved Kirby. |
He's as good as anyone -- kid or veteran -- making adjustments. He knows himself and knows the game, so he can self-correct and improve. David's going to play at a high level pretty soon. |
Hopefully we can stop the bleeding and try to get back on track. We don't want to start getting too far behind in this thing. It's a long ways to go, but as well as you say that, it can sneak up on you in a hurry, get yourself in a little bit of a hole. |
I can hit anywhere. I've always wanted to hit third, but you have to possess consistency ---- day to day and month to month. With me, the consistency sometimes lapses. I'm always working on those things. |
I didn't know how well I was appreciated in New York until an event like this, ... I've been getting a million e-mails. I just appreciate the love everyone is spreading around. |
I don't have as much energy, ... I can't be concerned with rushing things. |
I don't want to comment on anything right now. |
I feel rejuvenated, refreshed. I've been around some guys who can play this game. I'm a part of this tradition. Baseball's been part of my life since I was 4, 5 years old. I've always tried to model myself after a few guys and see what I'm capable of doing. |
I have the best weight-loss plan of anybody in the world - get your mouth wired shut, |
I hope I'll get a good reaction tomorrow when I wake up. I wasn't cutting it loose yet. I'm still cutting my swing short, so that (stinks). |
I remember going for the ball and that was it. My main concern was breathing, breathing, breathing. I didn't know what was going on. I was just in a daze and it was kind of crazy. ... I was coherent, but I was out of it. |
