It's the best year in Maryland for top-end talent and depth since I've been doing this. It is perfect timing for him (Johnson). Every year for the last three years the talent has increased in Maryland, and the area keeps getting better and better. |
New Jersey has developed over the last decade when it comes to D-I talent and is still on the rise. It is a notch below Pennsylvania, but getting closer. For any east coast team north of Georgia, New Jersey is a must on the recruiting trail. |
No. One would hope that because he comes out of an industry beyond the political world that he's less subject to the pressures of politics but, unfortunately, his career hasn't demonstrated that. |
One thing that can provide that is a circumscribed religious view that tells you what's right and wrong, and what you can and can't do. I've found it hard to get people to understand that we don't have a quarrel with the idea that God is responsible for creation. It doesn't have a place in science class, but perhaps it should be in a literature or religion class. |

Right now, based on what I'm hearing, Florida is going to stay No. 1 and USC is going to be No. 2. Florida already has the No. 1-ranked class, and they're in the final running for a five-star running back (C.J. Spiller), and they're likely to get a four-star lineman. |

The basic reason that the market is down hasn't changed. We're in a bear market, stocks are overpriced, and the earnings aren't very good. |
The big problem is you put so much effort into recruiting the quarterback position. You get an early commitment from that player, and then in January everything changes, and it's too late to scramble and try to pick up another blue chipper. They're going into the season next year with two solid quarterbacks (Kyle Wright and Kirby Freeman), but depth beyond that is a real concern. Next year there's pressure to get not only one, but two. |
The judge's ruling (Thursday) speaks for itself. I have no further comment at this time. |
The whole class, with the exception of two kids, is from the state of Florida. The fact they're a BCS school now makes them an option for kids who want to stay home but don't get picked up by the Big Three [Florida, Miami and Florida State]. |
There are certain states -- Maryland has become one this year, North Carolina has been one and New Jersey has been one -- where there's no real home-school advantage. Guys can just come in here and cherry-pick who they want. |
There's nothing left in the bag. |
