We'd still like to maintain the opportunity to create a position that's advantageous.

We're in a fight for position right now. You get rewarded for winning. We can still get home-court advantage with a better record than the third place team (Denver).

We've been in a stretch where we would have one good quarter and then one bad quarter. Except for one stretch where Minnesota cut the lead in the fourth, I thought we did a much better job tonight than we've been doing lately.

We've got guys that will (get rest) based on how much their injuries affect them. The older the player the more beneficial rest can be. Or, it can depend on how many minutes the player's logged.

We've got to play better defensively and get more opportunities on the offensive end.

We've hit this stretch of -- let's say -- four turnovers in five possessions or seven turnovers in eight possessions. The game breaks open and they put points on the board quickly. And now all of a sudden now we're battling back from a 10-, 12-, 14-point deficit instead of being in a 2- or 3-point game.

When I look at the stats, I see 14, 16, 19 and 16 (points). That's four good defensive quarters on a team that executes their offense as good as any team in the league.

You can only hang in a close game for so long before those things catch up to you. This was frustrating, but hopefully it's a learning experience.

You can't win big games against great teams if you shoot like that at the foul line.
|
You understand if you don't win, the season is over. It's as cold and as blunt as that.
|
You're rewarded both ways. Maybe (the NBA) has it figured out.
