I can't really explain it; we got the ball where we wanted it to go, but people just didn't score. |
It's the second straight time we haven't played well with the game on the line. We've been wilting under pressure lately. |
There are always too many turnovers whenever we play. It just costs us too many offensive possessions. If we ever cut down on turnovers we'll be a pretty good team. I thought the key was we couldn't put the ball in the basket very well. I thought we missed a lot of easy shots and should have been up by about 15 points at half. |
There's no doubt that our strength is Mike (Benjamin) and Nick (Nelson) down low, and their zone took us out of what we wanted to do much of the time. |
They came at us and Erin made some nice saves in the first 20, but it was a barrage. When you have that many shots, they're bound to make one. And once they make one it kind of ruins it and we open the floodgates for them. |
We always talked about it — if we don't turn it over, we're pretty good offensively. We didn't turn it over, and we scored a lot of points. Nelson was just phenomenal tonight. He got in a groove. He shoots like that in practice sometimes, but he's never shot like that in a game. It was fun to watch. |
We were just bad tonight. We were bad in a lot of ways, almost too many to count. We couldn't make a shot and it was a lot of different people who couldn't make shots. And when you don't make shots, you look pretty bad. |
