He's very well. He went six furlongs yesterday with two other horses. He's been here three weeks and really likes being here. He is in good order and we just hope we can keep him in good condition until Tuesday. York should suit him. It's a fair, flat track like a lot of courses in Japan. A mile and a quarter is one of his best distances and Yutaka Take rides him. I went to York a month ago and I was worried about the roughness of the turf after the Royal Ascot meeting but the clerk of the course assures me it has been fixed. That would be the only thing that concerns me. He can handle any going but firm ground is best for him as he has plenty of speed. He is mentally very strong and very adjustable. He can go off in front, come from behind or be in the pack. |
We have the option of the Irish Champion Stakes before taking him home, but that all depends on tomorrow's race. His trainer is expected to arrive in England this evening. |
