Every time something happened, I would pray to God, 'Please Lord, let my ability be there when I get back,'

He broke good, but the other horses wanted the lead. So I just sat with him.

He just fell apart the last 20 yards. He lost his air. I was concerned about him. I didn't know if he was hurt or not, but I didn't want any weight on him if he was.

He just had a brutal trip. It took me about ten wide, so I lost a lot of ground there, but he still ran a great race. He was the best horse. He's a real nice horse. He should have won.

He ran a great race. He's a perfect three for three and getting better and better. Pablo and Doug have been big supporters of me, and it's so nice to win one like this for them.

I am finding out more and more about her each time I ride this filly and the way she races. She didn't break the best today and I had to take her back, but she relaxed. On the far turn I saw an opening and took it. She went right in there and took off right away.

I just think Lava Man ran a very big race today. We just got outrun. We had a pretty moderate pace going. I tried to hold my advantage the whole way. I tried to edge away from Lava Man at the three-eighths pole, and I couldn't do it.

I think he's one of the best sprinters in the country. He kept on his left lead, and I really didn't really try to make him switch. I just kept him going about his business.

I was finding a lot of room to move about out there. The pack slowed up a bit on the backstretch, and I saw an opening. ... I asked her a little bit, and she went.

It was tight going into the far turn and I was following Kent [Desormeaux on We All Love Aleyna] around there, ... He went down inside and I went out and the race was on. My horse stayed on his left [lead], but that was OK. He was still kicking and that was all that mattered.

Mr. Lewis made me part of the Budweiser family. Which is pretty ironic, when you think about it.

She didn't break the best today and I had to take her back, but she relaxed. On the (far) turn, I saw an opening and I took it. She went right in there and took off right away.

She didn't want to switch leads but when she did, she accelerated again.

There's no doubt he (Surf Cat) cost me the race. I'm trying the best I can to slow it down and he's on me. My horse ran great, but he just fell apart the last 20 yards.

When we crossed the dirt, the leader drifted out and we got through. He just took off and got the job done.
