(Miller) is the heart and soul of this team. He's a true competitor and we're obviously not the same team without him. Now we need some other players to fill his shoes, shoes that are nearly impossible to fill. |
He had some nice open looks early. We settled in once he hit those shots. |
He has a good work ethic and practices on his own year-round. He has a good grasp of the game as a point guard. |

I could see it in his eyes. I could see Griff wasn't going to let it happen even though he missed a few free throws. He was going to find a way to win. |
I'll say this. Brock has earned everything ? nothing's been given to him. |
It was important we came out in the second half and continued to play hard. That was something we didn't do on Friday against Provo. |
We know he's pretty hurt. I've seen him in pain at times, but I've never seen him in that much pain. |
We looked smooth and crisp, passes were denied and we got Nick the ball. |
We played a little reckless at times. We had opportunities to control the game, but then we got a little out of control. |
We played a pretty good game overall. Besides their first shot off the opening tip, we guarded them well. We executed a lot of things well tonight. |
We wanted to get him in the game so we could establish an inside-out game, and he came out in the third quarter pretty eager to get going. |
What can you say? Eight percent shooting in the second half, 2-of-24, and a lot of them were open looks. What can you say? You can't shoot that way and win. We knew they were athletes. They were quick, they jumped well and that hurt us big time. |
What this does is show other teams that we're going to be very tough to beat (in the state playoffs). |
Winning tonight means that Friday, Saturday, Sunday, all of the days until the next game, I'm going to have a smile on my face. Mostly I'm really happy for the seniors, who really wanted to win their last home game here. They were pretty jazzed up. |
