Basically time is running out. They have a whole series of deadlines coming up in September. The problem is would US Airways be able to attract financing to emerge from bankruptcy again, even with a new round of labor concessions? |
I don't see any other large airlines in danger, but Independence Air is very weak financially. |

Their operations showed an improvement on last year. They're still facing the same challenges as other airlines, namely high fuel prices and improving but still competitive pricing in the domestic market. |
They built in some room in the first period running up to Feb. 28, so they have more cushion relative to forecast than is true in subsequent months. And the way the covenants work, as you proceed through March, April and May, that's when they anticipated the cost savings would kick in. |
Whether or not it could be profitable is hard to say. |
