Dan will be the key for us this season, just like he was the key to our offensive line last season. |
Even though they were coming back we didn't panic because our offense was still moving the ball. We stubbed our toes a little bit with penalties, but we weren't getting three-and-outs. At least we were able to stem the tide with our offense getting some first downs. |
Everybody claps. Ain't one guy who does his own thing. |
Got a little banged up in the game. |
He (Slaton) has worked very hard. We liked him the very first time we saw him. Even after he committed to come here and heard about the other recruits, he continued to work and you are seeing the results on the field. |
He got our Hammer Award for two big blows. |
He still made a couple of mistakes, but not as many as a first-year player usually makes. He has the right temperament for that position. He runs hard and he has a burst. |
He understands everything we're trying to do. He's invaluable to us, more so for his leadership than anything else. |
He'll get his most action. |
He's an explosive player. We've really been on him about making one cut and then running. He did that today and he really made it work. |
He's calm and composed out there. It's not like he's a freshman at all. |
He's doing a nice job, he's our backup long snapper and he's competing to get better. We've been proud of the way he has worked. He's better now than he was last year and every week he keeps getting better and better. |
He's had a really good camp, ... He's a veteran guy who can play slot receiver as well. He's more confident than he's ever been. He's in great shape, and we're excited for him. |
Heck, it's still the Sugar Bowl. We're in the Sugar Bowl, but just not back there. |
Hey, we have a lot of guys back. And we can't run guys out of here. They love going to bowl games and getting those gifts. But I am approaching it the same. I am anxious to see how much better our guys can get. Everybody that we played (in the Big East) had a young team last year. We played pretty well, but there are always areas to improve. |
