Face it, Love me or hate me, I'm going to give you a damn good show and drive the wheels off it. |
First and foremost, I want to apologize for the words I chose immediately after our race had ended. I let my emotions get the better of me and I apologize. |
He got away because he stabbed the brakes then took off. He's a great racer, but second is just first loser. |
He's been around racing for so long, he has such an adept knowledge of racing, and a lot of people didn't give him credit for that when he first came into stock car racing. If I had a second-car team, he could drive for me any time. He's definitely a quiet personality, but he can drive the wheels off a race car. |
I got put in the old sandwich. |
I will pay him back. NASCAR, listen. He's getting it back big time. |
I'm not worried about the penalties. Michael wrecked me plain and simple. |
I'm sorry for losing my temper following the race, but after a day or two of looking back at the race it's easy to realize that it's just not that big of a deal compared with what the people of the Gulf Coast are still going through. |
It doesn't have to be me, but if somebody thinks I did them wrong then-bam-you're around backwards and a lap down before you know it. Hopefully I've raced everyone clean so far this year, and I can have a good top-10 finish. I'm just going to do the best job that I can in qualifying and make the smoothest, smartest decisions in the race that I possibly can and score the best result. |
It wasn't easy because the sand was really soft after the jumps. I was really excited at the start especially with such a crowd. I feel lucky to be here. |
Just happy with the whole organization -- where we've been, where we're going. To make it into the 500 will definitely get the ball rolling. You know, it's hard to keep guys' morale up when you miss the biggest race of the year. And we've got some momentum now, and hopefully we'll be able to maintain that momentum. |
Just not being a new race team. Pretty much every guy on this team was here last year. That allowed us to work on our cars and be prepared over the winter time. I can remember a year ago the night before Bristol, finishing the car late at night on Thursday night and then come to Bristol. |
No. Let's race to win every race. If we can't win, let's take a fifth or 10th or 12th-place finish or whatever it may be. But let's go to try and win every race. |
People started asking me almost immediately after the race if they could have my helmet, and rather than just giving it away, we'll use it to raise more money. Obviously I'm still angry about getting wrecked intentionally, but at the end of the day I still have a house to go home to which is a lot more than a lot of people can say. |
Pit road was tight all day. On one of our first stops, we were blocked in by the No. 10 and lost some track position. It was something we had to work around throughout the race. We're all thankful that John wasn't hurt during the stop and the fact that he even went back over the wall proves how dedicated and tough he and the others on our team are. |
