It's experience I guess, ... Sometimes, especially this time of year, you have to will yourself through some innings. I'm just real fortunate. |
It's Houston, Texas, New York and Boston. I love all those places, they have great players that I respect very much. |
It's just disappointing, ... I don't like coming out of those and putting Brad in that situation. I know he loves those situations, too. But when it doesn't work out ... you hate to come out on the short end of it. |
It's right there in front of us, |
It's very exciting to walk in today and see all the guys come together. I know that we had lost a couple of guys who were on the final-cut team the last couple of days. They didn't feel that they were ready to participate. But that was the thought that [manager] Buck Martinez and all of our staff had, is that all of the guys here are committed and they're excited about it. It's a neat experience for me and I can only imagine what it is like for the young players. |
Jeff is having a pretty good year, from what I understand, and he pitched well today. He had a tremendous breaking ball and was able to spot his fastball. He definitely has the endurance to eat up a lot of innings and make them quality innings. |
Just having him back and having this opportunity now to come to postseason play again with Andy and our guns loaded ... that's nice to have, |

just to try and look at the details of everything that happened. |
Location was a lot better than what I expected and the breaking ball is ahead of schedule. |
Maybe, I'm the Grim Reaper, ... I miss a start and we scored 10 runs. |
My arm feels good but it's taking longer to get my legs in shape than I thought. I'm going to wait until after the (Classic) games to make that decision. |
My body feels great, arm feels good. I just need the conditioning with my legs. |
My body feels great, arm feels good. I just need the conditioning with my legs. When I have a little extra-long session here, like I was able to throw BP and simulate a couple of hitters, it helps a lot. |
My legs felt fine, ... I still need to get a little more strength in my lower half, but I think Jim Hickey, our pitching coach, and the skipper were happy with the way I was getting out over my front leg. So it makes a big difference; without the burning sensation in my leg, it was a lot nicer. My control was still off, and I think that was what was aggravating me a little early. |
