He tries to make things happen. Anything to produce havoc on the field. |
He usually got the bulk of them. |
He's a classic, what I'd liken to an old-time baseball player. In the old days, it wasn't so much around power, it was about getting the bat on the ball and creating havoc on the field and getting on base. |
He's been doing a good job all year, ... They told him last week they're going to use him more and more down the stretch. He's up for it. He can throw two innings at a time. He did a good job tonight, especially the pickoff in the ninth inning. |

I always heard that I was too small, |
I don't consider (it as) pitching in front of those guys, and I don't consider (it as) pitching behind those guys in the playoffs. I consider it as us as a team. |
I don't give in, (so I) throw fastballs in the zone and make him hit it. I figured if I can start a slider a little bit out off the plate that he'd give up on it, and (I) was able to do it. And it came back over the plate for a strike. |
I don't know anything about it. They tell me to pitch and I pitch. That's all I do. |
I don't like seeing guys who've never done anything in this game acting like they've been around and been All-Stars. I'm talking about guys with 30 career home runs who go pimping around the bases when they hit a home run like they're Barry Bonds or something. I don't like seeing that. |
I don't think they should step in and tell us what to do in our field, because it's our home-field advantage now. I think Chicago had their advantage there ? cold, windy. They've been playing in it all year; we haven't. So let's bring it back home and give the advantage to us now. |
I don't think we're done with Roger yet. |
I felt OK, ... My command was pretty good. That´s the way it goes. |

I grew up in a small town where you know everyone, ... I've been told all my life that I come from too small a town to compete with some of the guys that competed in a higher level growing up. And that kind of drove me through college and drove me in the minor leagues, because I got to face all those big 5-A [school district] guys in the minors. |
