That's the official question of 2006. If I go out and prepare and play, I'll do fine. |
That's where you just hope you can turn it around. That's why May is a brand new month. If we can make May our April, but better, I think we'll do alright. If we can finish April at .500 [by sweeping Pittsburgh], that's a victory in itself. |
That's why you play nine innings. It doesn't matter when you score them, although it's always better to score them early. We needed one more, and we couldn't get it. |
The main thing right now is just going out and having fun. I know what I want to do. If I go out and have fun and relax, then all my goals should come true. |
Things just started falling in. You never want to see anyone hurt or injured, but I just came up and tried to make the most of my opportunity. |
Things might not have gone the way we wanted them to. But when we come back [from the five-game road trip], it'll be May. [Hopefully] that will be a fresh start for us. |
To tell you the truth, when I rounded second, I thought he had it. It looked liked he took it out of his glove. I thought he was messing with me. |
We'll take this day off and regroup. It's really tough right now. It's one of those things where we're going to see how badly we want [to win]. |
Whatever they ask me to do, you give it a shot and see what goes on. |
When I look at us, I see a young, exciting team. And with the guys we picked up, I can't wait to get to spring training and see it all unfold. |
Why not us? We could have been playing in the World Series last season. That's what we have to shoot for. |
With Jim being traded, it's a relief because you don't have to answer those questions any more. At the same time, you wish him the best of luck and hope he comes back and has the same kind of year he's been having. |
Wow, two wins in a row at home? That's big isn't it? |
Yeah, I knew I'd hear about that early on when I crossed home plate. As far as who they put me in the lineup against, I can't control that. For me, it's just a matter of being able to see the ball. It's about seeing the ball movement, how the curve spins, just things like that you can pick up. If I can see [left-handers], then I can make those adjustments. |
You're going to have those days [like Monday's shutout]. You just have to be able to bounce back. |
