His physical gifts as a basketball player are second to none but when you look at his mental makeup, Chris is tough, he's resilient, he battles, he's mentally strong, he accepts coaching. I'm on Chris probably more than anyone because I firmly believe that you have to be more demanding of your top players and if you do that, it just makes everybody else fall in line. Chris understands that, he gets it. |
Home is something we have to take care of. I don't know what it is, but we have to play the same kind of smart basketball at home as we do on the road. |
Hopefully we learned something from (the loss). We don't have a choice (but to bounce back) since we play tomorrow night. That's just the nature of the NBA...But you can't say anything about Utah except that they just executed and outplayed us. |
I can't fault the effort, but we made some mistakes. But they were mistakes because they were all trying to make a play. |
I can't imagine not playing hard. And quitting? I can't imagine even contemplating doing that in this city. |
I can't remember the last day Mo came to practice and said he couldn't go. |
I can't remember the last day Mo came to practice and said he couldn't go. I really can't. Yes (that's out of the ordinary). But if you like playing, if you can go, you go. |
I don't see any moral victories in professional sports. Our guys played hard, we had a chance to win the basketball game and we didn't. |
I don't think I can ask too much. Where and when do you stop asking? When do you stop expecting? He can do more. |
I feel confident Chris can take it to another level, |
I feel good, I'm happy for those guys in there (the locker room). |
I feel good, I'm happy for those guys in there, ... Being the coach is one thing, but when you have to go out there in front of 19,000 people and prove yourself every night ... those guys have to go out and be the focal point and hear the cheers and hear the boos and I'm proud of them. |
I feel that he made me the best player I could be. |
I guess I'm getting my test on patience. I'm going to be patient, but it's tough. |
I guess the altitude kept us from thinking. |
