I mean, the second year on the tour is obviously much harder than the first.

I think I played one of my best matches. She's the number one seed, and I'm happy that I was able to play my game.

I think the match was pretty winnable, but that is how it is. It is hard when you are not playing your best tennis and the other girl's coming from winning a tournament...The bottom line is I did not play up to my standard and did not play well. Of course I'd love to have done better. But it's the beginning of the year and I just have to put it behind me.

I thought I played a good match, ... I knew that she can run well and that she likes a certain pace, so I tried to change the pace as much as possible. She hits a very solid ball and takes it early, so she can also make you run a lot. But I stuck to my game and played my shots.

I thought I played a good match. I had a solid start to the match in the first set. In the second set, she picked up her game, but I think I played well when it mattered on the important points.

I wasn't really in it from the beginning. She played a good match. I think I was really rusty.

I'm actually very excited, ... I still have nothing to lose.

I'm feeling the ball good. I guess I'm just playing the best tennis I've ever played. Just feels like I'm improving on a daily basis.

I'm going to have maybe 50 unforced errors one day, but I'm going to also have 50 winners that day. Maybe I can add variation to my game, but I'm going to win matches only when I hit those winners. If I win matches by moon-balling, then I'm not going to satisfy myself the way I played that day.

I'm old enough to know better, but still too young to care.

 I'm very happy about it.

I've never played at senior level in Japan, but I've been to Osaka twice and to Nagoya twice in the juniors. I've always played well in Japan. I'm looking forward to a great week,

If you expect me to play perfect tennis, I can't. What matters most is that I won.

It is a delightful experience to partner a player like Kim and very exciting to win a match against Venus and Serena.
