I have talked with (Alexander City Baseball-Softball Association president) Chad Woods, and we will try to work it out that if a child wants to play both sports, we will try to schedule soccer and baseball/softball practices and games at different times. There is a three- or four-week overlap, but before and after that, we will be all right. |
If we can get enough adults to participate, we will have a league with them as well. |
Instead of playing games on one big field, we'll have games playing across the field on one half of it. That way we can have two games going on at the same time, which means we can have more games. |
It has been brought up on numerous occasions. But this was the first year that we felt we had enough interest we thought we could have it. |
Registration will be lower than it was in the fall. We will also have T-shirts instead of jerseys for the uniforms, and that will make them not as expensive. |
With the way the league is set up with smaller fields and teams of four or five playing, there should be more offense and more participation from all of the kids. Games will start in early March and end in late April. |
