A first baseman must hit 25 or more home runs. |
And here I am, getting ready to go play a game, |
Being in Houston really hit home, because driving by some of those motels, you'd see all the people outside, having barbecues out in the parking lot - there were a ton of people, ... Maybe raising money will help get these people food, water, shelter - just basic necessities, really. |
Every time I got on the elevator in the hotel, I'd meet people who had evacuated. You could see on their faces that they were distraught. |
Given the developments of yesterday and the reactions of Duceppe and Harper we certainly have to be ready for a Christmas election, depending on what Jack Layton does, |

Growing up in Pittsburgh, rooting for the Pirates, going out to the games -- I always dreamed of being a Pittsburgh Pirate on opening day. I went to a lot of games, but I don't think I ever went to an opener. I think the tickets were too expensive. Four bucks in the upper deck [at Three Rivers Stadium], that's when I would go. |
He definitely has our number, |
He did what he did. There are consequences, he paid his price. Now he's ready to get back. |
He's one of those special guys in the league with dominating stuff. It's the reason why Houston's back in the race. |
He's the first baseman of the future here. No doubt about it. |
Hopefully it encourages people to give what they can. Obviously, our day's pay is a little bit more than everyone else's, but if you can give 10 or 20 bucks here and there, that adds up. |
I already got a chance to say hi to those guys. Now, it's a chance to say hi to the fans. |
I always dreamed about being a Pittsburgh Pirate and playing there on Opening Day. Let's hope it will be a lot of fun. |
I don't think he took it too well at first. But hey, he's a typical 15-, 16-year-old. I think he's fine with it. |
