People are anxious for a new face and a new approach to some of the problems. They are tired of the partisan bickering that they see every day coming out of Madison. |
We haven't dealt seriously with the way we fund campaigns. We put ourselves in a position where professional politicians are playing that game. The money may influence what bills get to the table, and that's not to the advantage of most people in the state. |
What I've noticed over the last 10 years is that people here are not happy with the agenda the Legislature is following in Madison. There is widespread opinion that 16 years is long enough, and there is probably a point of diminishing returns when you are in office too long. |
