He's another set of eyes. He can help with some drill work. We wanted to extend his internship. He wants to be a coach. He's a hard worker. He knows the system. The guys respect him. |
He's been a real good acquisition for us - in terms of his production on the field, in terms of him backing up Dre' or Eddie (Drummond), whatever we ask him to do - being a leader and being a pro. I'm really happy with him. |
He's got a chance to be one of the elite backs, |
He's just not there yet. |
He's never been a guy to throw a lot of interceptions, |
He's not there yet, |
Hey, ... I wish my quarterback was named Edmund Fitzgerald, and not Joey Harrington. |
How could he possibly have any idea of what we're doing before he got here? He took a year and a half off. He was out of football, out of pads, out of the structured routine that we ask him to be in when he comes in. There's no way running on a beach or at some high school playground that you're going to get in football shape like you do when you practice. |
How it feels, ... he'll learn that as he starts getting hit. |
I believe we are a better football team, certainly better than we have shown. |
I can't do that. Maybe someday when we roast him or something. I can pull out of a couple. There's roast material. |
I care about this state, ... and I feel a responsibility to get things done. If we stay healthy and play smart we can be a playoff team. I think we're on the right track. |
I didn't like the way we finished the game. We played hard, but when we needed a first down up six, or needed a stop, we couldn't get it. |
I don't know if I'm ready to go a lot past that. My field goals are going to come faster than my kickoffs, because the field goals, there's not as much of a sprint and power motion. |
I don't know if we would drastically change a whole lot. |
