[The loss isn't sending Dent home frowning.] I go out there in a match saying, 'This is what I've got today, this is all I can do,' ... It is a little disappointing ... but I'm not too worried about it. Maybe once, you know, I'll curse myself and get back on the job. |
[The second side to this one, according to Dent, was that in Indianapolis he was warming up an hour before his matches and practicing an hour and a half after them.] Working my butt off, so I could play good tennis, ... If you add that up, that's more than playing a Grand Slam. I woke up on Sunday and I was absolutely fried. |
After the first set he started making a lot of first serves and I didn't play solid enough from the back to have a chance to beak him. On top of that he was playing very well and hitting great passing shots and I wasn't able to overcome that. |
Andy was kind of the hot kid coming in here, ... It's a bummer for the tournament that he lost, but that's men's tennis. Unfortunately, it's just so deep. |
As soon as you try to start controlling what the other players are doing, you're going to find yourself pretty frustrated, ... At the end of the day, I am not going to lose the match because he's cheering on my bad shots. |
Bottom line, everybody's trying to win out there, |
Felt like the Leaning Tower of Pisa out there sometimes, |
He gets in your face a little bit, but that's his style of game, ... He's won a lot of matches doing that. If I was his coach, I'd say keep doing that. |

He's going to cruise through a lot of service games because he's got one of the best serves in the world, but sooner or later I'll get the chance to break. |
I am extremely disappointed to still feel the affects of the final match in Indianapolis. I'd be doing the tournament and myself a disservice to go out there at 50 percent. I'm going to take a few days to recover and prepare for the ATP Masters Series events. |
I don't really react too much to what Patrick McEnroe and Jim Courier says. They kind of see what they want to see sometimes. I've had discussions with a few people why I lose matches. They seem to be the expert on my tennis, seeing me play one or two matches a year. I find that a bit humorous. |

I feel like it would be a shame to get rid of doubles, but I guess it's on the doubles players' responsibilities to find a way to make it lucrative. |
