I agree that metal doesn't ever really go away, but it does have waves of popularity, and right now it seems to be growing. I don't think it's quite hit its peak again, but it is on the way up. Major labels are trying to grab hold of a lot of the metal bands, and that whole thing is coming around again too; you can kind of see the whole cycle repeating itself. |
I see the next record as being a little more diverse than what we've done before. We will take it to the extreme. Some of them will be very mechanical and heavy and others very rhythmic. We're also going to incorporate a sense of dynamics and some of the songs will be the darkest we've done. |
It limits us from being able to sit down and focus on writing a song. It also affects us because we learn a lot from seeing other bands. It's almost like a great deal of research before we write the new material. |
There are not as many tours competing with it. In the summer, you have all those tours competing with each other, which gets kind of hard on the wallet as a fan. |
