It probably sets us back a little bit, but we'll sit down with the trainers and get an idea which way to head right now. |
It really came through well. We never even lost power and all of our systems are working. So we really came through better than we could have expected. |
It was difficult to build our club last year. We certainly learned some things from that. With the way our payroll has escalated through normal processes, it becomes an even greater difficulty this year to build. |
It was nice to be able to recognize the people who put in the work to put us where we are as an organization. |
It's a gut-wrenching, agonizing decision. From a talent point of view, I don't want to lose him. I also realize we need to improve our clubs. It's very difficult for me to move forward in doing that if I have such uncertainty. |
It's a huge part of our success here, that we're very careful about what kind of people we bring into the organization as far as their character. We have one of the best clubhouses in baseball and we take that very seriously and I don't want to bring in someone who could disturb that. |
It's a significant injury. We're hopeful that it will heal within six weeks. We hope to know that it's healing, but it may not heal. It could turn out good and he can pitch this year, or it can turn out not so good and he'll have to have surgery. We just don't know right now. |
It's a way to remember him and honor him for all he did for Enos. |
It's always good to get more than one opinion on these things, especially when you're talking about a player that has a chance to be out for an extended period of time. We've always been very cooperative with players who have requested [a second opinion]. |
It's been this way for quite awhile, ... It gets more notice now because you've got more teams in the hunt. You hear a lot more about it with the wild card. |
It's disappointing, ... We really felt like there might be some opportunities out there. You have to realize that once July 31 comes, the number of options shrinks dramatically in terms of players that get through waivers. This year, I don't know if it's a record, but it's got to be close to a record for players that were claimed on waivers. That shrinks your pool even smaller. |

It's going to be a day-to-day thing. You want to get him rehabbed, but you want to get an idea of where he stands. It's not like we're going to be in position where we'll hold him back from the activity if he could do the activity. |
It's good for him, with him having a chance to play some games, and it's good for us, too. It gives him a good opportunity. |
It's heroic, ... He understands the meaning of duty. His mother taught him about duty. |
