Being at the state meet last year was all about gaining experience. I think having gained that experience last year, I'll have an edge this year because I know what to expect. Hopefully I can have another great showing and I'll be able to place. |
I felt strong going into the third. I felt like I was in good shape and if I kept going strong I'd come out on top. |
I look at the role models I had when I was a sophomore and what a great year that was for me. Those guys always watched out for me and I was constantly looking to them for leadership. Now, it's up to me to give that same experience to the younger kids. I have to treat them with respect and let them know how important wrestling is going to be to them – not just in high school – but for the rest of their life. |
It was just something I had to get taken care of. The hardest part is overcoming that fear that something could happen. But once I gain the confidence and the strength, everything will fall into place. Until then, I have to keep working hard and hopefully the pain will go away enough for me to do what I need to do. |
Poway is a powerhouse and they work really hard and they deserve all of the credit. But it's time for other wrestlers from our area to step up. If we (as a section) have a great showing at state, it will get the word out. |
This has been a really long road. But I always believed that if I kept working hard I would be able to get back. |
Trucking is hard work. It's hard work to be behind the wheel of a truck and be on the road for hours with traffic. It's strenuous on the mind and the body. |
