I'm watching the football games, |
I've been on some great teams. I'm just really proud. I can't express enough how proud I am of this team. The personality. The get-after-it attitude every day. I expect no less these next four games. I told you guys this a month ago: It's probably going to come down to the final weekend in Washington. |
I've never seen anything like that, ... You just sit down and go, 'This is unbelievable that this is happening.' |
If he scores runs, we win. He really took his strength and conditioning (program) seriously and he's finding out the benefits of it now. |
If we don't win, none of it matters. |
In the last seven weeks, the team learned how to be winners. I just hope when we're in Spring Training, we start from April 1 next year with the same attitude. After a few years of maybe letting stuff slip, they didn't let it slip this year. I think they learned you can't say it's early in April anymore. |
Is anybody talking about the Dodgers? With that bullpen that throws all 95, they're going to be pretty dirty. I think they're the team that looks good out West. |
It would have been nice to win both games, but if we continue to play like this, we'll be right there. |
It's a get-it-done camp. It's a new-school approach for an old-school manager. Old school would be grinding it out all day. |
It's an honor, actually, to stay in the division. |
It's easy to hide behind the manager's door, but he shows his face in here [the clubhouse], win or lose. |
It's much nicer to catch him than face him, I can tell you that. He was in control today. I could probably catch him with my eyes closed. |
Jon has really done his part in the second half of the season. Unfortunately it seems like the guys he pitches against are just as tough. |
Maybe, ... it's our turn to get it this year. |
That was my third running back picked, |
