The NCAA wants you to make sure nobody's fighting, and then they don't want you breaking it up. My assistant doesn't deserve any of the blame for that; I do. I didn't appreciate the double-technical because I didn't think that was deserved. |
The nice thing for us with George Mason is we did play them last year and it wasn't like we ran through them. We just did a good job at times and we struggled at times. |
The officiating, I question it. I really do. I question it. I guess I'm allowed to say that. |
The only reason I'd say no to that is because it's the type of player he is. We have other guys that can fill in in certain spots, but it's the athlete, it's the versatile 6-6, 6-7 athlete that can guard inside guys and guards, and that's where it creates some problems for us. It's not really replacing apples to apples. Anybody else that we replace him with is a completely different kind of athlete. |
The opportunity I've had here ... I thank you for letting us be (a) small part of it. |
The opportunity I've had here ... the chance to meet every one of you ... the chance to wear this uniform ... I thank you for letting us be (a) small part of it, ... We will never give you as much as you've given us, but we will promise you to spread the word and tell what you are all about when we get back home. |
The pressure [on today's top freshmen] is incredible; it's just ridiculous. They're supposed to start, star and lead you to a championship as a freshman. If they don't leave by their second year, it's considered a test of their manhood. |
The really sad part is, I thought this team had enough talent to go a long way. We had three really good players, but we just didn't have enough depth and we were never as consistent or tough as we needed to be. |
The Thursday-Saturday thing was a joke, in my mind, and I think most coaches would agree with that. I turned down going to the NBA ? I didn't think I'd have back-to-backs right now. |
The turnovers were made at ridiculous times. And the number ... Give them credit. They (Iowa) hung in there. It was an ugly game. |
The turnovers, I told you, would make a big difference in the game. We did a great job there. |
Their guys have made significant improvement. That's a sign that they are being well coached. |
There are times when I knew people hated to come in here. And once your streak is broken there's a difference. You're invincible, but once you lose there's a little chink in the armor. |
There doesn't seem to be a lot of hope that he'll be able to play for quite a few weeks. Maybe three, maybe it could be six to eight. But there's no real understanding yet. |
There were some bright spots. I think in the second half we played better. Our defense was better. They turned the ball over and we scored a lot on that. |
