[If the Rams had enjoyed just an average day in the red zone against San Francisco, they would have scored 30-plus points. A good day, and they top 40. Instead they scored 25, or three shy of San Francisco.] For us to be as good as we are offensively, and have the talent that we have, to get in the red zone and not capitalize is disheartening, ... So we have to do a better job at that this week. . . . Coach stressed that we need to get more focused on our details in the red zone. |
But I think this is a football team that's together, we understand what we didn't do to win that ballgame, and we have another opportunity against another divisional opponent on the road to redeem ourselves, ... It'll be up to us as players to go out there and do that. |
Coach (Mike Martz) kind of challenged us this week to come out against Detroit and play well and we did that on both sides of the ball, |
For me personally, it will be disappointing because of the amount of respect that I have for Coach Martz and what he has taught me since I came to the National Football League. I owe a lot of that to Coach Martz. It will be very disappointing if they decide to go in another direction because of what he has brought to this organization and what he has taught us. |
For us to come out and put up 42 points, that's the Rams of old. That's what we're used to doing. It's good to get back on track and put up 42 points again. |
For us to get in the red zone and not capitalize, it's disheartening. That's our job. This week, we want to give our offense the opportunity to score points. |
He always thinks good things, so I'm sure he's thinking positive and hopefully he'll be ready to go, too, on Sunday. He looked real good, he looked crisp. It's a good sign. |
He brings the power. He's a hard, tough back. He's like Eddie George with more speed and burst. He brings another air of toughness to our side of the ball. |
He put his cape on and went into another mode. It was a Marshall of the past. |
He said he was feeling better. He has a pretty good spirit about things, and that's the most important thing. That helps us. If he's high-spirited, then we can go out and be high-spirited. |
He was telling Marc, 'C'mon, throw it my way,' ... and I told him, 'We're going to throw the football -- you just have to make a play on it.' |
He's still finding his way and he's still cautious at times. He's still trying to learn guys' personalities. You can see his newness a little bit, but I'm liking him. He's all ears. As a head coach, I think that's one of the things you have to have. |
I can't make the calls. I have to go by what's called. Coach felt that was the approach he wanted to take in order to give ourselves a chance to win. ... That was his decision and how he felt at the time. |
I don't expect anything less. If I have an opportunity to go up against him one-on-one, you best believe I'm going to try to burn him or take him deep and score a touchdown on him. |
I have been saying all along that as long as our offensive line protects the quarterback and the defensive line plays well, this will be a good football team, ... I think we displayed that. |
