It's always good when some of their best players are not in the game, obviously, but I don't think for us that we look at it like that. They pay guys to come in and make plays. I don't care who it is. Those guys come in and expect to play at a high level. |
Lorenzo and I had a great conversation. I told him that I didn't think that he got an opportunity to show the coaches and the world the type of running back and football player that I think he has a chance to develop into. I saw it a lot this season, and after the season I told him I thought he should stay in school. |
My grandmother didn't want to come to Atlanta; she wanted to stay home, ... I said, 'If anything happens, call me.' Everything has been OK so far. I have family in New Orleans. I hadn't talked to them. Some of the people I know went to Mississippi. Some went to Texas. |
Of course there is, ... If we can go through a game and not have any negative plays and we can always gain 4 yards on each run, then I think we're doing something. We're not there yet. |
Overall, we were balanced offensively. We made some plays in the passing game to continue drives, and I think that was important. But overall we had a lot of things we need to work on and improve on. |
Some of that was Mike, but it was also guys making catches. You've got to catch the ball to make the quarterback look good. |
Tampa Bay is a very talented football team. They definitely have a defense capable of taking them places in the playoffs. |
That's something that not only us and the coaching staff, but the fans want to see, too,'' Booker told reporters. |
The line has to make their calls, like who they've got if a safety comes up. |
The only thing I can do is keep trying to call, ... No one in my family got on the highway. … The line has been busy. It kind of scares you a little bit. |

The other day against Buffalo, early on I get hit for a loss, ... The second carry I pick up 2 yards. It's third-and-8. We're not starting off on a good note but staying with it. They were taking chances. Sometimes it takes the line a while to get a feel, the fullback a while to get a feel. Next thing you know, in the second quarter we hit a big run. Then we say, 'We caught y'all.' |
The players love him, ... He's young, energetic. He gets in your face. He's a guy who can challenge you, but do it in the right way. Guys respect that. You have to take chances to play well and to win games. He thinks like us. So when you see that, you kind of respect that and you want to go out and play for him. |
The times we get away from being stubborn and get into a lull, the coaches and us realize you always have to try and run the football. You have to be consistent doing it, and when you are consistent they have to respect the run, and it gives you an opportunity to make a play in the passing game. |
The uncle, the one that nobody one knew where he was at, is in Baton Rouge, ... We're still looking for some cousins. My grandfather _ he came up. It's just a blessing, but I have so many family members that have just lost everything. Their homes and everything. I have a bunch of friends that are just traumatized. There's still a lot of people they haven't heard from. Their family members, parents, kids separated from their moms. |
