We relate to you their story with the truth; surely they were youths who believed in their Lord and We increased them in guidance. |
We said: Go forth from this (state) all; so surely there will come to you a guidance from Me, then whoever follows My guidance, no fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve. |
We said: O fire! be a comfort and peace to Ibrahim; / And they desired a war on him, but We made them the greatest losers. |
We will brand him on the nose. |
We will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they set up with Allah that for which He has sent down no authority, and their abode is the fire, and evil is the abode of the unjust. |
We will make you recite so you shall not forget, / Except what Allah pleases, surely He knows the manifest, and what is hidden. |
Wealth and children are an adornment of the life of this world; and the ever-abiding, the good works, are better with your Lord in reward and better in expectation. |
Wealth and children are the adornment of life. |
Were it not for an ordinance from Allah that had already gone forth, surely there would have befallen you a great chastisement for what you had taken to. |
Were it not that favor from his Lord had overtaken him, he would certainly have been cast down upon the naked Found while he was blamed. |
Were not My communications recited to you? But you used to reject them. |
Were We then fatigued with the first creation? Yet are they in doubt with regard to a new creation. |
What do they wait for then but the like of the days of those who passed away before them? Say: Wait then; surely I too am with you of those who wait. |
What is the matter with you that you fear not the greatness of Allah? / And indeed He has created you through various grades: / Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens ,~ one above another, / And made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp? / And Allah has made you grow out of the earth as a growth: / Then He returns you to it, then will He bring you forth a (new) bringing forth: / And Allah has made for you the earth a wide expanse, / That you may go along therein in wide paths. |
What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition / As if they were asses taking fright / That had fled from a lion? / Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; / Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. |
