I was very pleased with how we responded to open the second half. Napa had the wind and the momentum, but the kids showed what kind of team they are by coming out strong and taking Napa out of the game in the first 10 minutes. |

I wasn't even supposed to be in on that play. Todd [Pinkston] got tired, I think, and I went in. They called a deep pass. I caught it, but I went down on the 4. I had low self-esteem; I thought I was going to have a touchdown. |
I wasn't pleased with the results, but I felt strong in my first couple of innings. Working with Jason will take a few times to get on the same wavelength, as far as pitch selection and how I want to approach getting guys out. |
I went through a lot of turmoil this year and it couldn't been better than to end the year like this. I would have like to win the championship for J. D., but we did win eight races and had a good year so mission accomplished. |
I will always want Ian McKellen. There's no way for me to think of not walking into the story through him — through something happening now, and then going back there. Ian is an ambassador for this, and he needs to be there. |
I wish Norm Chow well and hope he'll pick all the nuances of the NFL up, but he's going to see defenses he's never seen before and his players in the NFL won't be the most talented players on the field. That will be a problem. |
I wish we would have played the same schedule and won a few more. I don't want to play a soft schedule and the kids don't, either. I want to play a national schedule that gets them exposure. It's going to make our team better. |
I wished that I could have been down there because Paul actually wanted me to do the tour with him, but then he realized that it just wouldn't be right. It wouldn't be a solo tour anymore. It would look like just half of KISS. |
I won't practice any harder just because I might get more playing time. It kind of gets you excited, but I approach the week as business as usual. You never know what's going to happen in this game, so I always prepare myself. |
I wonder what kind of shape the offices inside the Louisiana Superdome are in after Hurricane Katrina? The valuable things like jewelry, watches, rings, anything they thought they could pawn, all the food and drink, were gone. |
I worked a little bit harder in the weight room. I tried to hang around Matt (Hasselbeck) and Seneca (Wallace), the quarterbacks, a little bit more, just so they can get a feel for how I run my routes. I think it's paying off. |
I would certainly love to win the last tournament (played) at La Costa. I'm sorry to see this tournament leave. Obviously I love playing here in San Diego, and the fact that it's eight, 10 minutes from my house is even better. |
