Even I slept well last night. We actually tried to take it easy so that we didn't feel much pressure. We tried to isolate ourselves from the outside world and told each other that this is the standard we are going to believe in. We are not doing something unusual. We have the merit to perform like this. |
Even though I'm not gay, I think Clemens is such a brute that he deserves this legal action. He brought it on himself by being so butch on the mound. Being straight, and not gay at all, I hold hope that he can turn himself around and take his place in the beautiful rainbow that is Major League Baseball. |
Ever since freshman camp, he's been getting after me and stayed on top of me no matter what. He's going to do his best to make you the best player you can be. It's hard to accept sometimes, but when you look back at things, it helps you out. We've had our battles, but I wouldn't change it for the world. |
Ever since the All-Star break, it seems like I haven't had too many good games. It's frustrating. We've still got six games with Cleveland. And the way that they're playing, they could sweep us right now. If we keep on playing like we're playing, we're not going to the playoffs. We'll be home on Oct. 3. |
Every single time you'd go outside (in Iraq) and you've got to worry about getting blown up and you've got to worry about getting shot at. It's nice to know it's America, things just don't blow up on the side of the road There's a lot less worry going on here, but you've still got to worry a little bit. |
Every year it's like a straight line. Last year our traffic increased 60%. Now we're supported by ads. The consumer wants information, especially about genre films, even anime. We're very democratic. Even though genre films get the most hits, even if a movie opens in only one theater, we still cover it. |
Everybody could use Billy Wagner, ... There's not one team that could not use a guy like Billy Wagner. He's the best there is in baseball. He dominates guys. He played in a hitter-friendly park and had an unbelievable year. I don't know who's going to be lucky enough to get him, but everybody needs him. |
Everybody knows that if the United States were ever to have its best players playing in the Olympics, then it would not be close. You can talk all you want about the rest of the world closing the gap, and that's true. But when the best players in the world are on one team, you're not going to beat them. |
Everything's wonderful in Oakland. I'm very happy for Ken. He's very attached to his players and felt very badly he wasn't going to be with them. The bottom line is this really wasn't about money. It was more about both parties being comfortable on going forward. In the end, it was easy to get resolved. |
Far too few retailers have moved beyond the classic metric of comparable store sales increases to measure the annual or even lifetime value of a customer. Hyper-educated consumers have higher expectations for their retail experience, and hyper-sensitive shareholders have higher expectations for results. |

Firstly, Republicans are zealots. Secondly, where the hell are the Democrats? And thirdly, well, at least the zealots believe in something strongly. And that's the problem for Democrats right now on this issue, and a whole host of others. The party seems unwilling to stand up for anything controversial. |
focuses on the interests of energy, both energy security, but also energy efficiency. It focuses on the vital role of energy in development and it also focuses on the issues of climate change. It opens up the possibilities for developing, deploying, and transferring cleaner, more efficient technologies. |
For me or anyone else within the Department of Education to state a personal belief on this subject or to presume what may or may not be included in the revised science standards would be nothing short of negligent, ... It would destroy the integrity of the open process we have worked hard to establish. |
For most kids, Jewish identity is dictated by their parents. They go to Hebrew school because their parents say so. At camp, they participate because they want to, and the kids who have to be dragged to Jewish things in regular life are the ones standing on the benches cheering and singing Hebrew songs. |
