It's interesting to re-read the book as an adult. Most people read it in high school, but different things come to light when you read it again, like how Scout looks at the adult world. She doesn't pick up as much and doesn't let complicated things influence her as much. It makes a lot more sense to me now. |
It's just a cycle and things and it is very frustrating for the kids. I give a lot of credit to them for coming right back out, right back at it, 100 percent. Nobody has let up, nobody is down on themselves. They realize there is a reality to what's going on and they are going to keep fighting through that. |
It's neat. Sometimes you try to resist the temptation of thinking you've heard all the stories and tuning people out, because you'll hear some pretty unique stories. You can't believe how many people came up to me and said, 'Oh, we knew you were going to hit it.' Most people have been really great about it. |
It's never easy, but you have to go by performance. Hannu played very well. Hannu has played at the minor league level and he's won big games there. He needs to get used to the NHL shooters. Even at practice, he's facing [players like] Murray and Samsonov. If we need to make a change going forward, we will. |
It's nice to talk about where guys are going to finish and what guys are going to do, but to me until you knock off the big boys I think it's fair to say they are the favorites. I feel good about our chances, obviously, and preach to our players constantly about winning. But you've still got to do it first. |
It's not necessarily that he beat me. When you let someone who'd never won beat you before, it's the way they carry themselves after they beat you. He's already kind of a cocky, flamboyant guy. He won, so he has this title under his belt, so I know he's going to act now. I'm just going to get him next time. |
It's not the kind of football I like to see from our team. We'll work hard to try to get it fixed. There is no excuse for it. We dropped balls, we didn't execute, we didn't play with the kind of urgency and intensity that good teams play with. Everybody needs to decide what kind of team we're going to have. |
It's obviously disappointing for Wales to lose Mike at this stage. Mike has made a decision and he has made it early enough so Wales can replace him in time for the World Cup. His results have been first class. He will always go down and be known as a great Welsh coach, and that is exactly how it should be. |
It's pretty unbelievable that Texas is the second largest state in terms of population and that we have only two baseball teams. California has five. I think eventually we will have another team. Whether this is the time or not, I'm not sure. If the voters in San Antonio support it, we certainly would, too. |
It's running well. We're getting done what we need to get done. We've been fortunate with the weather. [Sunday], I think, is iffy, but that's fine. [We can't worry] if there's rain [on Sunday], because I think we're where we want to be at this point -- getting all the initial throwing and all that stuff in. |
It's seen for what it is now; it's no longer overlooked. That Sunday was special. It was the low score of the weekend, playing on concrete, practically, I think I only hit about three poor shots, but I don't think I hit a shot all day that at least didn't go in the direction I was aiming. It was a rare day. |
It's tough. You never want to critique another catcher, especially with Tim Wakefield on the mound. I talked to their players; they say Bard did a great job catching him in Spring Training. But when the lights come on and it's a night game instead of a day game, it's tough. It's the hardest job in baseball. |
It's very cool and there is a lot of tradition here and I love to come here. I really like Darlington and Charlotte and tracks like that better, but I'd really love to win at Indianapolis. I'd like to win and go through all the stuff of kissing the bricks [at the finish line] and all that stuff and roll on. |
It's vital for a company such as ours to be incredibly vigilant in terms of the consumer, ... Consumers today, using great technological tools, have many more choices in terms of how they spend their time, what they consume in terms of media and they do so in many different places on many different devices. |
It's worth bearing in mind that 'Hamlet' makes poor Danish history and that 'Lawrence of Arabia' grossly oversimplifies the politics and cultures of the Middle East. I don't mean to say that drama should never concern itself with factual accuracy, only that a work of art must be judged by a higher standard. |
