We've known since camp over the summer that we were going to be different than last year. I think we've really brought our stuff together. We're a close team now. We don't want to have any of that stuff we went through last year. Now, the only thing everyone is worried about is the team. This is a family now. |
We've reached the point where employers need to start hiring again, but productivity growth will stay strong, so they can meet some of their increased demand with productivity improvements. That means hiring will be slow and the unemployment rate will stay at about 6 percent for another year and a half or so. |
Wealthy companies set new records in political contributions to buy this veto. Schwarzenegger bends whichever the way the corporate winds blow. Just a few weeks ago, the Restaurant Association, a major opponent of the bill, hosted a fund-raiser for Schwarzenegger in Los Angeles. Coincidence? I don't think so. |

Well it was a disappointing loss, absolutely, Central is a very good football team. We knew that going in. They probably should have beaten Duluth East last week. We knew we were in for a tough football game. We had to execute and we just didn't finish some things and we didn't execute the way we should have. |
What an emotion-packed weekend. Team Cadillac did a fantastic job. They rebuilt Andy Pilgrim's car on Thursday and then they rebuilt Max Papis' car during the race. Ron Fellows brought home a victory for Cadillac again today, and it's great for the series that the championship is going down to the final race. |
What happened outside the ground is very disappointing. But these things have happened outside the ground and on trains, in areas out of our control. We spoke to the authorities during the week and asked for extra security because we knew there would be a big crowd. Inside the ground there was one fight only. |
What is really interesting is the response of the various communities in Iraq. You have seen statements from all of them condemning the violence and indicating their resolve that there needs to be calm, no resort to violence, and movement forwards towards a unified government, which really is what Iraq needs. |
What is the logical extension of the argument that it's wrong to ever under any circumstances reveal classified information? What happens if we live in a police state, and people are disappeared off the street, or people are tortured and we know about it? Who are we serving, are we serving Bush or the people? |

What upsets me is, in 10 years' time the children of victims of terrorism will wonder why their parents were killed. According to the version now put forth by the Islamists, and the process the government has adopted, those children will think their parents were killed because they were not on the right side. |

What we do is probably on the external edge of how much sharing is involved. We share everything -- the house, the health care, the food and basic household items, like toothpaste and soap. When you live in this community, you get all your basic needs met, in exchange for working for the benefit of the group. |
What's alleged in that case ought to be of concern in everyone in the country. It relates to the quality of the diplomas students receive. Athletes continue to be a small percentage of this problem; other students are taking advantage of diploma mills. It's a bigger problem than something for the sports page. |
Whatever the whole council comes up with that is best for the people is what we have to come up with. But I'm not going to deviate by reducing the quality of life for children and people struggling to make ends meet. We need to make sure we vote right the first time so the mayor doesn't have to break the tie. |
