I like the way he runs. I like what he brings to the table. Last year, when he first went in there, he took a pounding. He took a beating. He pretty much had to carry the load because they had a quarterback situation. This year, he put on a few more pounds, which he really had to, especially in that offense. He's done an outstanding job. |
I lot of people asked me why don't I double because it would be good for me financially. I wanted to run a race that made sense athletically because I do have a marathon in two weeks. So I always knew I was going to do a 10K. I missed the course record by 11 seconds (set by Kevin Moats in 1982), so I want to come back and get the record. |
I mock him a little bit, but I don't think now would be the right time. I'm not the only guy. Everybody has their impression, because everybody's been yelled at by him before. He yells at everybody. It's not hard to see the chin coming out at you and the spit flying everywhere. If you've been yelled at, you know how to do the impression. |
I moved him for Morgan. When he came back from the hand injury, I wanted him in a position where guys are going to have to pitch to him and he's going to get pitches. I switched him back because I didn't think he was swinging the bat that good. I prefer to have Lance in that third hole and as it turned out today, Morgan came through big. |
I never wanted to be pigeonholed as one style of comedy. I want to be the kind of person you have a random back-and-forth with at a party. So that if you go to my show I could take irreverent, I could take subtle, I could take slapstick - pretty much anything I could think of that would be entertaining - and my audience would be with me. |
I only knew classical music, which to me was the only true music. The only way I could survive at the bar was to mix the classical music with popular songs, and that meant I had to sing. What happened was that I discovered I had a voice plus the talent to mix classical music together with more popular songs, which at the time I detested. |
I put a lot of thought into it. What exactly I'll say, I'm not exactly sure right now. It's kind of a last-minute thing. The biggest thing right now is not to make this game out bigger than it is. ... There's been a sense of urgency and a desperate state we've played in the last seven weeks and I don't think Sunday will be any different. |

I really don't think so. Each one of these games has the best referees. I don't think too much carries over, unless this sort of continues on and the series got pushed on. I know the referees are working very hard. They're looking at tape and things. They also want to be very fair and start each game with a clean slate and go from there. |
I saw greatness in John and he lived up to it. I also saw a tremendous competitor who loved to win. John is a standard bearer, someone that players, coaches, fans and the Raider Nation can all look up to. One of his great virtues, the fire that burned brightest in him, was his love and passion for football, which was seldom ever equaled. |
I talked it over with my parents (Wendy and Chris), my coach (Southern Connecticut's Tim Quill of Wolcott) and made the decision to leave college for the second time and drive to Ann Arbor. I had no money, just my 130,000-mile Chevy Cavalier. I put a suitcase full of clothes and my electric guitar in the trunk, gassed it up and took off. |
I think a lot of it is that he has young guys blocking for him right now. There's a lot of young guys out there. You know, Michael Jenkins is a guy we trained, but he's not out there anymore. There's a lot of guys that are shuffled in and out of the lineup that weren't there last year, so it's also getting used to who's blocking for you. |
I think coming up where I was drafted, I kind of automatically had a spot secured no matter how good or bad I did. Right or wrong, it's kind of the way the game works. But now to come in and compete first to make the team and then from there to try to get a starting spot, that's probably the most [competition] I've ever had at any level. |
I think his anticipation is that he's going to want an extension, and he's going to want to dictate terms of that extension, ... And at this point, I'm not sure that any of that's going to happen. Our view is that we'll have to wait and see. We'll have to wait and see how he is physically and wait and see as to what his expectations are. |
I think it's been recognized in every meeting we've had, the need for continued vigilance, the need to be absolutely sure that the macroeconomic foundations, the stability of the economies is assured, ... and that's why so much focus is being on strengthening the transparency and reporting that is done by the International Monetary Fund. |
