She did a very good job. They're a very strong 1-on-1 team. They get ball at midfield and drive down hard. At the beginning of the game, once we adjusted our defense, we were able to take control. We had a lot of caused turnovers on [McCormick]. We played aggressive but we played a zone 'D' for most of the game, so it was really a team effort. |
Simple questions they often ask a policeman is how to get somewhere, directional things. That is what the bulk of policemen on the beat get asked. There is a mapping system in there. Basic information in terms of support that the policemen give in terms of victim support or any common areas that they might want to go into a police station for. |
Smyrna is big and they used their size to wear us down. We wanted to stay within 10, and we did a few times. Even at halftime when they were up 16, we didn't think it was too bad. We felt if we could get the third quarter to go our way we'd be all right. But we got in foul trouble in the third. The girls played hard, but it just wasn't enough. |
Sometimes it's hard for us to tell (how much it's bothering him). He says it's not so bad, (but) we tend to think it's a little worse than what he tells us. It doesn't hurt him so much until he sits down for stretches at a time. It takes him longer to get warmed up, and the day after he'll be stiff and complain about having a 40-year-old body. |
Sun has to keep up with the other guys. IBM is going to be coming out with the Power5+ soon. The reality is in this industry you have to put a lot of energy into running to stay in place. What happens if you don't make these kinds of advances is you fall behind. So this upgrade is in some respects about maintaining parity with the competition. |
SUNO serves a particular clientele that no other college does -- a low-income adult population that desires a four-year degree. They work to get through school, and most of them lost everything, ... But it's not just about fixing the school. It's about the city, about having a rebuilt infrastructure so it's a place people want to come back to. |
Sure, most of our income is now spent on needs, and the wants of life get put off more frequently than in the past, but life is simpler and so much more enjoyable. Frantic mornings getting kids ready for day care have turned into enjoyable breakfasts with the family and conversations on which park or hike the kids would like to enjoy with Mom. |
Sure. Sure. He's okay. Aren't you, Cat? Poor old Cat. Poor slob. Poor slob without a name. I don't have the right to give him one. We don't belong to each other. We just took up one day. I don't want to own anything until I find a place where me and things go together. I'm not sure where that is, but I know what it's like. It's like Tiffany's. |

Taking full time off to go back to graduate school once you're, say, past 28, is very costly. Yes, there's no question it enhances your value -- particularly in the big stream areas like finance, sales and marketing, engineering, health care. But you don't want to use graduate school as a deferral because you don't want to face the job market. |
Tampa Bay's (two-deep zone) coverage was trying to take away the deep threats, so you've got to have somebody inside that's got a good feel for finding soft spots underneath the coverage. Sometimes it's not a matter of how quick or how fast you are, but how elusive you can be and how well can you get open. Josh did a nice job of that (Sunday). |
That was a very tough race. The timing of the safety car period worked to our advantage early on and we were in good shape. We were quick in the conditions, everything was going well and the strategy was well defined. Then we just decided to go onto dry tyres too early. It was a very close decision, but we took it together and we got it wrong. |
That's because the last three outs of the game are the hardest. You manage a game to get to your closer. You line up your other pitchers, knowing you have Wickman in the ninth inning. By the time I bring in my closer, I'm pretty much done managing. That's my last pitching move. The game is in his hands, and he has to get those last three outs. |
That's the thing. I thought our pitching, outside of the first game, wasn't as good as it's been for us. I told the guys after the game, 'Don't start believing the stats you have. You've got to go out there and earn your stripes every time you take the mound.' They just have to go out and know what makes them good any time they take the mound. |
That's why we usually start two years ahead of when we're going to need to replace a piece of equipment. If we are replacing 'like for like' — a new truck built on the same spec as the one it's replacing — we can move ahead if we have the funding. If we are doing something new, we need to draft a report for the City Council to explain why. |
