We just lost track position there for a while. When you're restarting 20th or 26th, or whatever it was there, it just makes it really difficult to pass. Luckily (the caution) came out at the right time for us, when we were getting ready to pit. We gained a lot of track position; got ourselves in the top five and obviously, we held our own there at that point. |
We need to do more offensively, ... If we're better offensively it will relieve a little bit of the pressure on our goaltenders so that they don't always have to pitch a one-goal game for us to get points. Our penalty killing and defensive play has always been strong, so more offense and more consistent goaltending are the two areas we are looking to improve. |
We need to get through one more hurricane season and winter of Nor' Easters. A lot of our beaches are in poor shape. A series of powerful storms in the 1990s have eroded large sections of sand and dunes. One more major hit and we could be in big trouble. There are thousands of lives, homes, businesses and public property at stake here. They are at clear risk. |
We propose this with great caution, ... The evidence, after all, only applies strongly to insects. Human altruism and tight-knit societies may well have evolved differently. But if it is true, it would help us understand the group aggression and warfare so widespread today. Those who study human biology and behavior should take a new look at this possibility. |
We ran aground on the question of Jim Sensenbrenner wanting to prevent states from issuing driver's licenses to illegal aliens, ... There was just about unanimous rejection of that. When the president called Jim Sensenbrenner, it was my impression that he was going to ask him to hold that until next year. But Jim Sensenbrenner came back with [more] proposals. |
We realize as an industry, that if we were to have more problems in a few weeks, we just do not want to risk that happening. We want to make sure the system gets cleaned out and the plants get everything in place and get things rolling again. We're being watched so closely nationally that we want this to succeed. Everyone in the country wants this to succeed. |
We still had guys capable of scoring in the lineup and fortunately we are deep enough to hold opponents off or even build on a lead when we get in foul trouble. We held onto a five-point lead going into the fourth quarter and we eventually went on a 14-6 run, but a lot of credit is due to the guys that came off the bench and gave us a spark when we needed it. |
We talked the other day and some of our goals are close to the same. We'd like to be fighting for the conference championship. Mount Zion is going to be tough. They won it last year and have everybody back, but we want to be in it until the end. We have a lot of guys to replace, but these guys have been pretty successful in the past and they are working hard. |
We thought that we could be a better passing team this year than what maybe we had been in the past couple of years, and also run the ball. I think the kids demonstrated that, but we also have a lot of work yet to do. Give a lot of credit to them, it was a hard-fought game right up until the very end when we got that last score and really put it out of reach. |
We told them after the game, 'You have 12 hours to enjoy this. We'll see you tomorrow at 10 o'clock for films,' ... We were a little sluggish in practice on Tuesday, so we had a little conversation about what can happen if you're satisfied with what you've accomplished. The kids have picked it up and gotten back in the groove. They're not too high or too low. |
We took this action because we are determined to achieve competitiveness for Delphi's core U.S. operations, and the key to accomplishing that goal is reducing these costs as soon as possible. We simply cannot afford to continue to be encumbered by high legacy issues and burdensome restrictions under current labor agreements that impair our ability to compete. |
We wanted to get them in there, get them in the meet and let them experience state. It's a lot different type of meet. There's a lot of stress and pressure on them. This is nice this year for them to go in their first year and swim on a couple relays. It looks like they got a good shot at swimming on Saturday. The more races you get at that level, the better. |
We were doing the interviews on the second day of taping. And the director pulled me to the side and said they had scholarships for all four kids. Two years at Wharton County Junior College and two years at the University of Houston-Victoria. One of the biggest worries a parent can have is paying for their children's education. And now we've got that covered. |
We were just a little too casual. Just a little too casual on defense, not quite boxing out enough, not quite challenging the shooter. And the other teams were taking advantage of it. We have the talent to play with these teams, but when we don't bring our best it's not like we have a big margin for error. We just came back and took care of the little things. |
We were trying a bunch of different combinations of kids, so we were clunky - shots wouldn't fall, it was real physical, and there was lots of slapping and reaching. We played reasonably well, but never got into a rhythm. Amanda Johns did a great job off the bench. Sometimes when your starters are having off nights, it's nice to have players who can help out. |
