Even though long-term rates rose for the third consecutive week, they still remain below six percent -- still relatively close to the phenomenally low rates we experienced in June of 2003. We believe that the housing industry, although poised to ease a bit, will still continue to bustle as the economy continues to expand steadily and long-term rates remain affordable. |
Experts tell us that it is not a matter of if a pandemic will hit, it's a matter of when. It does tend to go in cycles. If a pandemic reaches Idaho soil, state health experts estimate up to 25 percent of our state's population could be infected and become ill. We could see as many as 2,300 people die from flu-related illnesses and more than 10,000 people hospitalized. |

Federal legislation will make it difficult but not impossible for Internet gamblers in the U.S. to gain access to offshore sites. Ultimately, Internet gambling operators are selling a product. The vast majority of customers will satisfy their demand for commercial gambling through less onerous and risky alternatives, such as lotteries, bingo, pari-mutuels and casinos. |
For what it's worth historically, 9/11 was the news media's last great moment in terms of the public view. I'd be hesitant to say much more than that because we don't know how the public is reacting to this crisis -- whether there will be the same sense of unity and common cause. There was an immediate rally effect shortly after 9/11, and that rubbed off on the media. |
Forty-four senators have now voted to dismiss the articles of impeachment, ... The president will not be removed from office. For the good of the country and in keeping with the Constitution it is now time to end this trial. We are here not to protect the president of the United States; we were here to protect the Constitution and we have done so faithfully and fully. |
Given the rise of chronic conditions and the rapid aging of the population, there has never been a more urgent need to improve quality and reduce costs through the optimal use of technology. I look forward to helping frame the discussion of how technology can help connect people and information in new and important ways that can enable better healthcare at lower cost. |
Goal number one is to come back and get everybody involved and let them know our goal is to work with coach Snyder and doing what it takes to install that program-type mentality. Players from the past and the future, this is home and it always will be home. Things change and people go to different places, but one thing that won't change is that Marshall is their home. |
Going to Russia was an unbelievable experience. Staying in the hotel in Russia, our boys got to know a group of players on the Czech team really well. Some of the Czech kids spoke three or four different languages. Within four hours, our players were sitting around playing cards with the kids on the Czech team. The players all exchanged pins, hats and jerseys as well. |
Gun violence is on the rise in many of our cities today, and illegal gun trafficking from neighboring states is a big part of the problem. We need a coordinated effort to ensure partnership and cooperation with prosecution, community programs and crime prevention. We need leadership from the federal, state and local levels, as well as help from our neighboring states. |
Had he kept his nose clean and gone back to school next year, a first-round selection would have been a very, very distinct possibility. But now with all the trouble that he's had, from arrests, obviously, the on-field stuff, the maturity concerns, I think he's going to fall, for sure to day two, and I can see a case where he falls to maybe the sixth or seventh round. |
He coached attitude, and he coached being a positive person twice as much as he coached football. And that's something I've taken with me my entire life. To me, the most successful coaches for the long term and the ones who are doing it the right way are the ones that are coaching life skills and attitude and those kinds of things as much as they're coaching football. |
He had a lot of influence on me as a basketball player and as a young adult. He taught me about hard work, discipline and respect. He treated the best player on the team and the last player on the team equally, so I never got special treatment. Coach Tisdale was a great family man and that's one of the things I took from him. He touched a lot of lives, including mine. |
He knocked it out of midair. It was a rebound off my shoulder. It was just an unfortunate thing. We had a 2-1 lead going into the third period. I believe it's my job to win that game or, at the very least, extend it. So I'm a little disappointed personally, but the team played great. Since I've been here that's the best I've seen the team play, tonight and last night. |
He likes the coaches from Pitt and that is a big selling point. He has family and his coaches from high school that want to see him play. He doesn't want to go four or five hours away because the people who got him where he is will not be able to see him play. This school is in his own back yard. This is an unselfish decision on his part and I'm proud of him for that. |
