It's kind of odd. She coached players who won national championships. She made women's basketball acceptable. And yet, she's not in the Hall of Fame. People say it's because she didn't coach long enough. I don't care whether she coached three years. When you win three national championships, you're in the Hall of Fame. So there's a lot of people that aren't in that should be. |
It's not an issue we've had in any shape or form here. I don't want to speculate per se of this becoming a bigger phenomenon, but it would be fair to say that if there were more and more of these coins or pins put in the ice, then it would be something we'd need to make sure there's common sense and it doesn't get out of hand, really in line with all our clean-venue policies. |
It¹s a compliment, because it¹s a place we haven¹t been in a long time and it sets our standard even higher, ... We also understand that the percentage points and the rankings can change weekly. What we have to do is concentrate on winning. That's the only thing we have control over. It¹s only October, and what we want to do is to be one of the top two teams in December. |
Jerome is a great guy. The way he played, the way he was off the field, he brings so much professionalism to our team. I can't be happier for him. He's what's right about the National Football League. He's a very inspiring individual. He knows how to deal with people. He makes you want to work as hard as you can to succeed. If it was his last game, what a great way to go out. |

Just minutes before I was doing this live pepper spray thing, I started getting a nasty headache. It was coming on strong and I felt like I was going to pass out from the pain, but I had to go on with the demonstration. I let the reporter spray me with live cameras rolling, and in seconds my headache was gone. I was in pain, but I knew I had something big here. I was shocked. |
Just the time we?ve grown from my rookie year until now, it?s so different. Coach gives us the flexibility to say, ?Hey, if you like this, you like that, do that. As long as you have the confidence to do it.? I?m glad he has the confidence in me that I?m going to get open and make plays, because that?s what I?m going to do for him, and that?s what I?m going to do for my team. |
Larry Brown doesn't need me to validate anything he's doing or thinking of doing. I laugh when I hear that the players are bitching and not really sure. That means they're right on track. If they're not really sure, that means that they're stopping thinking about what they want to do and starting to think about what he wants them to do. All of his teams go through that phase. |
Last year we had a goal we wanted to win a championship, any championship. We don't set a specific goal. Our goal is to play to the best of our ability. We'll go out and give it our best. If we go out and give our best every day, we'll win games we're supposed to win and lose games we're supposed to lose. Last year we did that and were fortunate to win a couple championships. |
Marcus is such a good player and he contributes a lot. He's had the attitude in practice that he's going to help us. He's been real good. He's had an upbeat attitude. I think all of us as a team are looking forward to him coming back. He knows what's coming (on the road). Marcus is the type that he'll use that to his advantage. He just has to block that out and play his game. |

More than half the American people now believe that the invasion of Iraq was a mistake, ... They're right. But it would also be a mistake to pull out now, or to start pulling out or to set a date certain for pulling out. Instead we need a strategy to create a stable, democratizing and peaceful state in Iraq - a strategy the administration has failed to develop and articulate. |
My favorite player growing up was Cal Ripken Jr.. To play that many consecutive games, he played hurt a lot. I loved that about him. You know he wasn't going out there at 100 percent and I'm sure his numbers were hurt by that. But that's the kind of guy I want on my team. That's the kind of guy I want to go to battle with, the kind of guy that wants to be out there every day. |
N.D. is still a work in progress. He probably needs more plays because he has been out for a while. But I am happy with N.D. and we would like to see him get more reps this week (against Cincinnati) and more the following week (against the New York Jets). It's just playing the speed and stuff like that. I think that is all he really needs, is the playing speed in a full game. |
No, I don't see anybody today. Come three more weeks in the league, there's going to be another team. There will absolutely be another team. One of the teams has to win some road games. Somebody will have to get on a run going into the (A-10) tournament. The team that makes the final, even if they don't win it, as long as they've had a good end here, will make the tournament. |
