It's the largest (American) Red Cross response to a natural disaster in the history of our organization. We know it's going to cost in the millions, because we've already sheltered about 160,000 people and we have over 650 (Red Cross) shelters open in 17 states. But we don't have final figures because we're in the midst of trying to respond to this disaster and meet the immediate needs. |
It's tough. I feel worse for my family and my crew than I do for myself. It was driver error on that one. I've got to keep it out of the garbage. There is an edge out there (outside the second groove of racing), and I drifted up after passing the lap car. You get two tires in there (loose rubber, or marbles as it's called), then four tires in the garbage and there is nothing you can do. |
It's written in real time, dramatizing every instant of every breath of eight hours of a nightmare in the old hotel. No cuts, no summaries, no leaps forward, as in 'five minutes later, he reached the second floor.' Every step is accounted for. I smiled when I learned that the Brilliance unabridged audio lasts eight hours, [which is just] as long as the story would take to occur in life. |
Koltsov, he's back in Russia. His mother is very ill and he wanted to stay back and be with her. He maintains that he that he wants to come back to North America and if he does we look forward to having him. You know, he's a dynamic player. He can create a scoring chance both for you and against you. He does have some great ability, and he was coming along when he went back (to Russia). |
L.J. has done well. Being in the situation now where he is the starter, we?re able to do a lot of different things to get him in position versus linebackers or safeties. We feel good about that competition. He?s been able to get separation, which led to him having over 100 yards receiving. It?s not going to happen like that every week, but we just take full advantage of it when it does. |

Life for me is just taking my time and making sure things are right one day at a time. The organization has been so supportive, and I'm not pressured with any timetable. My family and I are worried about my health, and we are just making sure I'm getting better. Football is something I love and I want to do, but I have to think about my wife and my sons to make sure everything is right. |
Looks like you can pretty much sew this one up, ... Now Time Warner and Comcast will get relatively bigger scale. While operating well, this leaves Cablevision as the odd man out. Considerably smaller in scale and now without VOOM, it will be hard for the company to compete with the larger gorillas and their economies of scale, which becomes more important as the cable industry matures. |
Low point of the address: Maybe it's just me, but isn't there something tacky about having the leader of the free world reading a phone number from the teleprompter? Also, it's been three weeks and they're only now publicizing a number for Katrina families looking for missing relatives? Nowpublic.com and countless other sites like it were up and running by 9am on Aug. 30. Just saying... |

Managing sales compensation has always been a difficult task. As products and product configurations continue to get more complex, more and more companies are trying to use incentives as a way to drive specific behaviors. There are so many variables to this that compensation challenges mount to the point where traditional solutions like spreadsheets no longer provide an adequate remedy. |
McAfee is honored to have Tech Data as a customer, to receive this year's Difference Maker award and to be recognized by Tech Data among so many distinguished IT Vendors, ... During 2005, McAfee and Tech Data have collaborated on numerous initiatives that will increase the overall sales experience for our reseller community, and we are committed to building on this momentum during 2006. |

Neither [Democrats nor Republicans] would prohibit lobbyists from making campaign contributions, arranging fundraisers, bundling contributions from clients, or serving on members' fundraising committees. Second, neither proposes an independent ethics watchdog to audit disclosure reports from lawmakers, staff, and lobbyists and to conduct independent investigations of alleged violations. |
