I think he does have that potential to be a good enough player on a team that's trying to get to the next level. Even if he is, realistically, he's not going to be there in the next year. It's going to take a couple years for him to develop into that. Garnett, as great as he is, is still going to take a lot of shots on the perimeter. The point guard is even more critical on a team without a dominant post presence. |
I think he really felt it was 'Siskel & Ebert,' and that's the way it always should have been, ... Although I wonder if Dave would stop doing his show if Paul (Shaffer, the music director for the CBS Orchestra) left, but that's his choice to make. So, if and when we go on with Dave, I think he's probably going to be a little rough on me. But, again, that would be pretty cool -- Dave Letterman taking a shot at you. |
I think it was a distraction because a lot of people let it be one. If you're a professional and you take pride in your job, you shouldn't let that affect what you do on the field. But I think guys were drained to a point where every day you look on TV and see something going on as far as 81 and Donovan or 81 and the organization. People got tired of looking at it. People on other teams got tired of looking at it. |
I think the early signs are that it is succeeding in firming up his base. The tough anti-terrorism rhetoric and making an affirmative case for Iraq has helped stem the decline in support among Republicans. It remains to be seen if it can have an impact on Democrats and Independents in the long run, but he has clearly made a decision to return to the one issue that has bolstered his presidency from beginning: 9/11. |
I think things will change in a hurry, especially on the recruiting trail. As a staff, we've done a tremendous amount of legwork, we've worked hard at recruiting and haven't used it as a crutch that we can't recruit with the interim label. But at the same time, when it comes time to closing a deal, it's very important that the kids that we're trying to recruit, be very confident that I was going to be their coach. |
I thought our defensive effort was much better tonight's than it's been in the last two or three games. We switched up our defenses. We ran a little man and then went to a couple of different types of zones to [stop] penetration. They're a little quicker than us. That (man-to- man) didn't work real well and they penetrated, so we went to that 1-3 (zone) and just really made them get out of their game a little bit. |
I thought the key was whoever got in foul trouble first between Jordan and Sean. We wanted to protect Jordan a little, and Sam and Max are competitive. Sam is 6-4 and Max is 6-2, and I thought if we could get through the first half with those guys doing what we needed them to do against Sean, then we could have Jordan match up with him in the second half. But it was effective enough to stay with it, and it worked. |
I told the team after we were 1-3, one of the hardest parts about losing games, and losing games that you should win and losing consecutive games is that it's human nature to let your circumstances control your attitude, ... And we had to reverse that. We had to flip that, and they did a good job with that. We worked hard on that, and that was the difference. No one in our building thought that we were a 1-4 team. |
I was struck by the Amish aspect of the film, ... As my first American film, I could go to a country within a country, and that would seem to me a better landing spot for me, as an English-speaking foreign director. I don't think I would have done it if, instead of the Amish community, it had been the Italian community in New York. I would have felt too inhibited and thought that the territory of other filmmakers. |
I went out. Even though I was pushed by Julio, I did. I put myself in a situation, what would God have done if he was being booed the first two days. God would have gone out. I feel like I did the right thing. I put it this way, I'm a friend not only when you're doing well. That's the way I am. I'm not saying the New York fans, they're bad. They're good. They really support us. But I do believe they can be better. |
I'm just excited, as a senior I've had the privilege and I guess somewhat the equal heartache at times of being here and seeing the full spectrum of turning around this program. As seniors we've been here and to go from being on campus and people saying 'oh you're on the football team' and holding a negative connotation, to seeing yourself on national TV as the number one team in the country full circle like that. |
I've found mine an enormous benefit in Edinburgh. It handles speed bumps and potholes very well and they're less likely to damage the car. The roads being as they are, everyone should get a four-wheel drive. Even if the roads improved, there's still no reason why people shouldn't use 4x4s in Edinburgh. They take up no more road space and most run on diesel, so they're more economical. I really can't see a problem. |

I've used a lot of jersey, but I've also done a lot of complex pattern weaves in these fabrics in solid colors, and there are lots of little dresses for cocktail and evening. I've done a series of very important evening dresses as well, just to show that these two ideas can also work well together. Today's woman can wear an important evening dress or a simple pant and top. It's all in the personality of the woman. |
If this hunt goes through, there will be other requests coming to the Russian government to hunt belugas. Before long we could have a hunt of a couple thousand Belugas. Once you start commercial whaling in any species, you have to make sure all of the bells and whistles are in place, that all the regulations are there from A to Z. Every time we have had a commercial hunt of whales there has been over-exploitation. |
