  . . . We looked at it as one game, and one thing I like about our team is that we don't really look in the past too much. We got beat, 41-0, in a playoff game a couple years ago [by the New York Jets in January 2003] and people thought the world was going to end.  Obviously we look forward to the game for a couple of reasons. Mexico is certainly and arguably our biggest rival in CONCACAF and that always makes for a good game. More importantly, any kind of positive result for the U.S. qualifies us for the next World Cup and that's been our objective since June of 2004. We obviously look forward to the game. We love playing in Columbus. We anticipate a great crowd, and one that's very supportive of the U.S. team. I'm confident we're going to field a strong team and play well.

 She wants to win a championship. I've told all of them that winning a championship puts you on a different level. It validated Sue Bird last year. That's what the game is supposed to be about anyway. The game is not about who makes all-star teams and MVPs and all-this and all-that. It is about who wins at the end of the year. That's what you play for. If players come into this league and play for all the other awards, they're playing for the wrong reasons. They're just picking up a paycheck.

 I don't think [milestones like 900 victories ] are important to her. What's important is giving a kid on her team that year all the attention in the world. Nine hundred was nice for her, and maybe 10 years down the line she'll think 'Oh, 1, 000 wins, wow.' At this point all she wants to win is a championship.

 They won the world championship. That made it one of the greatest at-bats of all time. That's why unless we can get another couple of wins, it won't be as great a story.

 Ante has always shown that he is a big-game player. He can go through a match doing nothing and all of a sudden produce a world-class goal that wins the game.

 You don't cheer for one team or the other, but I kind of wanted to play Denver because of Casey Hampton. We played against him a couple of years ago and I have a lot of respect for him.

 It was like this in 1996 (when the wild-card Jags reached the AFC Championship after two upset wins on the road). We just kind of flew under the radar, and we didn't get a lot of respect. We like it like that.

 No, I wasn't worried. It's our first game so I really wasn't surprised. I think I kind of expected us to get a slow start. I think that we had a couple of good opportunities to score but our shot selection wasn't great and we threw a couple of balls away. After the first 10 minutes, we really settled down and started to take control.

 Binns is the best team we've played and they always will be. They're the best coached team that we will play. This wins means a lot. I have all the respect in the world for that school, that team and their coaches.

 Are we the underdog? Your darn right we are. I don't think anybody gives us a chance to even with a game. To me, so be it. We know what we are about. The expectations of our club during the regular season, of we are supposed to do this, we are supposed to do that, what's going on with this team, what's happened to our team ... I think as we enter here in this series, we have no pressure on us. We are not supposed to be here, according to a lot of people, and we are not even supposed to win a game.
