 I think it was about more than tennis today. It's really to do with your heart when you are playing against the defending champion and against him in his hometown. It's really difficult to serve it out and finish the match. I think that's the most difficult thing.

 I might not have played my best tennis today, but with Fernando it is very difficult to play. But the important thing is to win a tournament like this that I had been so close to winning before.

 I really had a difficult time today. Maybe it has to do with all the matches I have played. Energy-wise I wasn't in the best of shape. At one stage in the match I wasn't really sure if I was able to finish it.

 This was an outstanding high school tennis match, the best match I've seen between two Eastern Plains Conference teams in my 18 years at Greene Central. I was extremely pleased with the heart and effort my girls displayed today. We had to play well today to beat a truly outstanding Tarboro team.

 Coming here, I felt like I wouldn't mind winning the title again, ... I think we both played a great match today. [We had] great rallies and both did pretty well on our serves. It was very difficult to break serve for both of us, and I was able to take advantage of a few opportunities.

 It was an extremely tough match and in the first set the conditions were difficult and both of us were struggling on serve. Hopefully, I'm on a good run now.

 I am happy with the way I played. It wasn't a difficult match. I am fairly relaxed these days and I am enjoying the level of tennis I play nowadays.

 First matches are always difficult. You need to get used to the court, get your rhythm. I have a lot of confidence and probably playing my best tennis ever.
