 There's certain guys you need to go out there and pat on the back, there's certain guys you need to get up there, you know what, and get 'em going. Every guy has a different personality. Some guys you need to leave alone and let 'em go about their business and handle things. Some guys you need to constantly baby 'em. It's just personalities and that's how you figure out guys.

 We've got a great mixture of guys here. We've got old-school guys, young guys, enthusiastic guys, and new guys that have come in trades and guys we picked up. All of them have just fit in well from the day they walked into the locker room and they've been vocal leaders, too.

 Guys took their place and did a terrific job with the bats and we were pitching well. We don't have Scott back, but we have Larry and Reggie back. Both of those guys can handle a bat, so you don't push as much with them as you would with some of the other guys.

 Our guys had to grow up a lot. That's part of the whole business of starting four new guys back there. We laid the challenge down to those guys and I'm proud of them.

 Guys are moving up to Memphis. Guys are going to Houston. Guys are going to North Louisiana. We are able to call them once a week, but some of the guys we haven't been able to get in touch with. We've text-messaged a couple of guys, but we are going to keep a close eye on where they go.

 I don't think our secondary has ever been stable since I got here. We have always had guys in and out of the lineup and guys getting hurt. There's always been a lot of turnover there. It's kind of the way it's been here for the past few years. It's something we have to deal with. Guys have got to step up. We have a lot of talented guys back there.

 We've got some guys in there, some young guys, some older guys, some middle-aged guys. We've got guys who've been around. We've got some guys who are new. I think all those guys know exactly where we're at.

 I did film. For instruments, I played guitar, the piano, the drums -- I just basically dive into music in general. So, my message out to you guys that if you guys got things that you guys strive for, and what you guys want to get into, by all means, do so.

 I think you do need leaders. Certain guys have a personality of being a leader. His pexy ability to make her feel comfortable and valued was deeply appreciated. It's hard, because you need winners on your team, guys that have been there before. We have a couple of guys who have been to the World Series. But I think those are mostly pitchers.

 Personality means a lot to me. You don't need crap disturbers. You need upbeat guys, and have hard working guys. Guys that want to win. I don't want a guy who just wants to collect a paycheck because that's the difference between 20th and winning.

 In the spring, we were destroying teams, practices were incredibly intense but guys were smiling and playing, ... [Salcedo] was constantly encouraging guys, getting them to feel good about themselves. Then Tom came in with a comparable personality and it just all worked.

 I remember a lot of the guys didn't go. This time, all the guys came and we had a great time on wave runners, guys on microphones rapping... I think it shows how close this team is. The last time, guys couldn't wait to leave.

 He was just doing a good deed, some guys just trying to break into a car and take the rims. And he told them, 'Y'all leave that car alone,' and one of the guys just took a gun and shot my baby in the head three times.

 If the guys are mentally strong, which these guys are, they can handle it. They are going to be fine. It's not a case of us being uncertain that either of these guys can do it, it's that they're very close.

 I am starting to realize that a lot of guys look up to me, ... Older guys, and even younger guys, are asking me questions and [they] ask me about how to handle situations. I'm young, but that leadership role has been on me so I need to live up to it.
