 The record is nice but what we really want to make sure is that we win the conference. If you gave me a choice any given year - you are going to have a loss but you're going to win the conference tournament at the end of the year - I would take that. The record is just frosting on the cake.

 We had a great finish last year. We finished No.43, and we didn't make the tournament. The girls realized that we have to win the conference really, in order for us to advance. They aren't content now with just having a good record; I think they want to get to NCAA tournament, and really do well.

 That was a nice little surprise that the guys over at Lawrence Central gave us. (Winning Conference Indiana titles) is something we've been very successful with. Every year you try to win as many games as you can, but the conference and (Marion) County (Tournament) are big deals. There'll be a little more incentive Friday night.

Ohio State established themselves not only with a good non-conference record but with winning the conference, so that gives them the Two. Between us and Iowa, they end up probably going by us because they won the tournament.

 Normally I probably wouldn't have been too sad about that record. It's the way we went 3-3. We started off 3-0, then dropped three to end it. For a lot of guys last year, it was a new experience. You can have a loss or setback and still do well enough to win your conference.

 What we're trying to achieve here is consistency. We want to be in the NCAA tournament every year. Four of the last six is a good start. Next year, three in a row would be the first time Ohio State has done that. It's a lofty goal and it's not going to be easy. Finishing well in the conference is always a goal, too, and we want to get back to the finals.  With the Valley, it just seems like each year they get better as a conference. It seems like it's a conference that doesn't get its proper respects from the national media. But it's a terrific conference and has super high-caliber basketball. Absolutely, there's a lot of excitement with this year's tournament.

 Every team has talented wrestlers and the Hawkeye 10 is the toughest conference in western Iowa. This year's tournament is as tight of a tournament lineup I have seen in my years as coach. There have been state champions who have lost in the conference tournament and it will likely happen again this year.

 In our conference you can't look at a record, because with eleven teams in the conference, every team is capable of winning this tournament that is coming up in March.

 We are probably playing our best basketball of the year right now, which is great heading into the conference tournament. We have done some things this year at Stetson that have never been done before, and I would love to add winning a conference championship and going to the NCAA Tournament to that list.
