 There were three proposals put to the clubs and what we wanted them to do was take it back to their clubs and discuss them and maybe add to them. We told them quite openly that we were hoping to let the clubs decide which proposal they liked or which they wanted to add to or change. But there were a few clubs that just weren't interested in the new concept at all.

 It is now apparent that the organizing efforts have reached beyond the Hispanic community and are now being supported by different communities such as the Anglo community, the African American community, the Asian community.

 In the three years we have been here, I would say it's growing. We're in a community with a lot of the sporting clubs, in Aurora and Sycamore. In probably a 50-mile radius, there are probably 25 to 30 clubs.

 I don't see that happening. There's really not any opposition to revenue sharing. Nor is there any opposition to helping small-market clubs that might need help on a temporary basis. Everyone in the league wants all of the clubs to be competitive. When it goes beyond any requirement to be competitive, and it's just a redistribution of profits, that's a different issue.

 Boys & Girls Clubs across the nation have had a positive impact on the lives of children for the last 100 years. The changes that have taken place in the clubs, even in the past decade, have been amazing to witness, so to think about what these clubs will look like in the next century is hard to imagine. I'm excited to see what our kids have come up with.

 Over 80 arts and crafts and social clubs that are members of the association will be displaying and selling their creative items, and there will be a food selection to please every palette. Entertainment will be presented in four venues during the day. In addition to a variety of performances by our own Sun City Center clubs, performers from all over the country will entertain.

 Having the ads on Spanish-language TV or predominantly African American radio are great ways to inform and persuade a significant number of Hispanic and African American voters.

 This is the first of many years of a strong commitment to creating events for all members of the Hispanic community. What we've found is that actually bringing the community to the ballpark brings a lot of joy and pride within the Hispanic community.

 Clubs can do a lot to improve the situation. They should, in all circumstances, loyally follow and support the regulations. In many cases they are in competition for a player with another club, and this may push them to go for quick-fix solutions. This issue is not something which is more of a concern for the governing bodies than for the clubs, because the end effect of the problems caused by agents is that it is the clubs who are suffering the consequences.

Greek, African, Pacific Islander, Jewish, Asian and Hispanic cultures will be showcased, because they are traditions that can be shared by all cultures. You don't have to be a member of the African American community to jump over a broom.
