Stop Walter Berry or sprichwort

Stop Walter Berry or go home. (St. John's guard) Mark Jackson was good, but he couldn't beat us.

Everybody else said it couldn't be done, but Walter did it. But that was Walter. ... Walter was a person who you never questioned. He told you something, you knew he was right.

You don't want to get somebody thrown out at the plate with nobody out. That's Baseball 101. Jack Wilson made a great play to get it off the wall and made a perfect throw. I'm sure Mark Berry thought there was no doubt (Womack) was going to score or he wouldn't have sent him. I'd rather Berry be aggressive than overly conservative.

Probably behind me. Seriously, both of them are as good and have had as good a career as any guards who have ever played in that league, and you can take all the guards who have played in that league, from Allen Iverson [Georgetown] to Pearl Washington [Syracuse] to Mark Jackson [St. John's].

I think they thought Walter was going for the dish, but Walter was finishing. He just made that read, and Walter was good for us.

We've just got to go out there and play hard and believe in ourselves. We always hear about [Gorilla guard] Eddie Jackson. We know he's a great player, but we've got to stop the rest of the people on the court.

Ryerson (who guarded Jackson) played one heck of a game. He did a good job of guarding Jackson. You don't stop a player like Eddie and he made him (Ryerson) work.

I think the director, John Huston, took on the picture because he's been trying to outdo his father, Walter Huston, and that's impossible. How do you cope with a genius? I couldn't communicate with my own father.

I don't have to make any decisions because when we started out, John David was well ahead of Mark. It couldn't happen at a better time.

We got beat, there is no doubt about it. They beat us to every ball and we tried to stop them but couldn't.

We got beat on the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. We couldn't block them on offense to protect the quarterback and we couldn't stop them when we had to.

We got beat on the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, ... We couldn't block them on offense to protect the quarterback and we couldn't stop them when we had to.

I told (coach) Mark Berry to give him the lineup card,

We couldn't execute. They got a stop on us and we couldn't get back in a rhythm again and we weren't able to stop them. They were able to move the ball on us and get good shots and get to the free-throw line and that's what we were lacking.

We couldn't get a stop. We just couldn't. That's only the second time a team has shot 50 percent against us ... They beat us on the glass. They went after every loose ball. They made big shots.
