 We've come a long way since Cancun and this week reflected unprecedented cooperation between developed and developing countries, among developing countries, and among developed countries. We're talking about major blocks looking to provide substance.

 The least developed countries are the most affected. Often, developing countries don't have the resources to mitigate the impact.

 Everyone - developing countries and developed countries - have to give a little ... in order to get this process moving forward, which will benefit everyone around the world.

 For this to happen, developed countries must be prepared to support, with public investment, through grants or loans, developing countries in their efforts.

 It is a forum in which developing countries have to struggle in an uneven and unequal contest with powerful vested interests in developed countries.

 To realize the goal of education for all, developed countries ought to shoulder more responsibility and offer unconditional help, ... But co-operation among developing countries is also essential.

 Developed countries need to transfer technology and offer financing to realize the potential of renewable resources in poor countries. This makes good business sense. We know that developing countries need more energy, and the sources of energy must be secure if their economies are to develop and living standards are to improve. Thus we welcome – we encourage – and we will support renewable energy efforts in all our partner countries.

 There's a real demand for workers in developed countries, and excess population in many developing countries, so migration is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

 Developed countries should continue after 2012 with Kyoto-type commitments with ever deeper cuts. But developing countries should start with less strict goals.

 While the adoption and penetration of advance security solutions is slow in developing countries due to inadequate infrastructure, acceptance in developed countries is hampered due to market saturation.

 Developed countries should shoulder a greater responsibility for a universal, coordinated and balanced development in the world while developing countries should make fuller use of their own advantages to develop themselves,

 And I repeat, as in other (previous) rounds, U.S. leadership is indispensable. I remain of the view that at the end of the day all countries stand to gain from a strengthened multi-lateral trading system, both developing and developed countries.

 We're adamantly fighting any attempt to transfer pollution from North to South, from rich to poor. These ships are moving precisely because the environmental and labor costs in developing countries are much less than they are in the developed countries.
