 I really wanted to come out and throw the ball, but it wasn't quite the day. But if we keep improving defensively, we're going to have a good team. Our defense will have to be good, in particular early in the year, for us to be good. I have a lot of confidence in them right now.

 Our offense wasn't good toward the end and we just wanted to pull it out. I'm just happy to be up and playing well early on in the season because I had my best year last year, and when you have a bit of winter break, you never know how it's going to start.

Even with only two days to prepare, our defense did a good job of recognizing some of their plays and getting there before they did or getting there before the ball did.
