 I don't think that Redwood National Park is an appropriate place for a sewage treatment plant. What kind of a message are you sending from this wonderful area up here? We think that we put $2 billion into a park and then we turn it into a sewage treatment plant.

 It was contaminated from the flood surge. It washed in raw sewage from a sewage plant and chemicals from a local chemical plant.

 Fifty years ago, there were no fish below the sewage-treatment plant because there was no oxygen. Now, there are reproductive issues. I don't know which is worse in some ways.

 The sewage spill that took place on the 16th of February is a possible source, but there are also private treatment plants in the area, there are septic tanks in the area, and the area is heavily used by boats.

 We gotta start somewhere. The Corsica River is a good place to start. We clean up that treatment plant, plant some oysters, plant some grasses, do some marshland around the sewer plant -- we get that cleaned up, we can start with the Chester River.

 Things happen while you build a treatment plant on top of a treatment plant,

 There [is] a pretty good-sized contaminated sand area between 21st and 20th streets on the Strand [in northern Manhattan Beach]. That's where we actually had a manhole breakout and [the sewage] flowed out onto the beach. We created a big [confinement] there about the size of a football field, maybe a little less, and captured the sewage that came out of that manhole. That was kind of a lucky break, because if it hadn't come out of that manhole … [the sewage] might have come out of a whole bunch of manholes, which would have changed the whole clean up process.

 Our redwood trees are treasures that need to be protected and preserved. By adding more than 25,000 acres to Redwood National Park , this legislation would help conserve the redwood forest, provide watershed protection, and protect wildlife habitats.

 Any plant that wants to be at the top of our plant closure list should engage in industrial action as a way of sending that message,

 Putting the right plant in the right place will determine how a plant handles hurricanes, how it'll disperse the wind. If you put a plant that has a superficial root structure in an exposed area, then you're not setting it up to sustain a hurricane.

 That's why the sewage deal must be terminated, because it will facilitate the SE2 power plant that nobody in Canada wants.

 Sewage treatment plants aren't designed to remove them.

 This (waste) is supposed to go to a sewage treatment facility, not be spewed about our streets.

 The fact that we have such a small customer base continues to be our biggest weakness here. Take a place like Richmond, where they've got one treatment plant, and 100,000 customers - and here we're trying to do four treatment plants with 7,000 customers. The cost impact per customer is significantly higher for small facilities.

 You would think that pot had some kind of power; I mean come on, it's a plant, not a reason for living. Controlled by a plant, how hilarious. A plant! A fucking plant!
