Spurs have a lot sprichwort

 Spurs have a lot of young players and a lot of quality, and they are progressing in the right way under (manager) Martin Jol and we're going to have to be on the top of our game to beat them.

 I was impressed by how the young talent was able to succeed at such a high level, ... That's a credit to the organization. First of all, the players who they're drafting, and then the quality of the people in the Minor Leagues who are raising these players up. And then, the manager, Jack, getting the most out of them.

 The thinking used to be if you shut down Timmy, you have the Spurs beat. I don't think that's true anymore. You really have to stop Tony Parker, too, if you want to beat the Spurs. I really think Tony is in that same class now.

 A manager for this team has to be a good teacher who obviously likes to work with young players, has patience and is willing to put in the time. D.J. really does well with the young players. D.J.'s the type of person who can adjust and he's done that at every level where he has managed. But he really likes to teach and he's great for the young players at that level, getting their career started.

 I loved Billy Martin. I thought Billy Martin would be a great manager. The one thing that hurt Billy Martin was personal habits. And I told him I loved him, I really did. He was down [in Tampa] just before Christmas. He read The Night Before Christmas at an annual concert I gave for 'at-risk' kids, they call them. I don't like to call any kid 'at-risk.' People went wild for him. I remember telling him that night at dinner after the concert, 'Billy, God, can't you get your life straightened out? I've seen you with your ear hanging off.' He was a genius as a manager. He was as much like Casey Stengel as Casey and that meant a lot to me. And it was three days later they called me and told me Martin was killed. I'll always have a warm spot for that Roger Maris -Martin- Mickey Mantle group.

 What I've seen is that these young players in our system are progressing at a rapid pace. It's especially pleasing to know that we don't necessarily need to count on those players at this point, which is good because they probably need some more experience before they are fully ready.

 In the last couple of days we've had around 20 applications from people who would be suitable for the job. George Burley is a quality manager and we're looking for another quality manager. We're looking for someone to maintain the momentum and keep us at the top of the league.

 It's hard to really judge (the Spurs) because I don't think we gave them much of a challenge. They played their game and beat us. And that's all there was to it.

 This is a great day for Swiss hockey and a great day for this group of players. It started with the wall in net (Martin Gerber), we had unbelievable penalty killing throughout, and a lot of courage from a group of players who were just shortly — a few years ago — asking for autographs from the players they just beat.

 He beat quality players and he totally deserves to be in the final, you know. Maybe he's changed something in his game. In two weeks he's improved incredibly.

 Martin's the first to find out, to listen and to get different points of view. It's a great quality for a young CEO. He doesn't have his mind made up before he has the facts.

 It's great that Martin Jol is backing so many of us young English players.

 I know the manager has said he wants to see more of me and, hopefully, I can get some more games for Spurs.

 The Spurs are coming because Tim is from St. Croix. It's unprecedented having an NBA team practice in the Virgin Islands, let alone the NBA champions. A lot of compromises had to be made for the Spurs to make this happen, but the Spurs were willing to make the sacrifice for Tim.

 The manager is looking at that too, and there are a lot of good young players coming through.
