en You lose in the first round of the playoffs, I don't think it's a success. There were some positives as we were able to overcome a slow start. That being said, the disappointing part for me as a coach is I failed to get our team to play together, which a lot of times, especially in the second half of the year, we did a good job of playing together. But in the playoffs, we didn't do that.

en You get to the playoffs you got to win 11 games. In the regular season, you win 99 and go to the wire and almost lose. The way we played all year long it was like a playoff game every day. ... Obviously, I'd rather be at home to start the playoffs. It would great to be home. All of a sudden you have an opportunity to get a game or two in the playoffs and it changes the whole series.

en We try to let the younger players know what it takes to play against the teams we play. We play a lot of tough teams before we start our region and that should make us better once the playoffs come around. We want them to learn to play our system now instead of later in the year.

en It was a weird game. You felt like they were trying to hurry up and get the game over with, so they could get to (the playoffs).

en It's like anything else. It's start Game 1 of the playoffs or the first game of the second half. It's cool, it's a big deal and then it's over. But with the way this staff is set up, I don't know if it's as meaningful [as] in the past because there's potentially a couple No. 1's in this rotation. By the end of the year, hopefully that will bear itself out.

en I'm proud of what we have accomplished. Winning districts back-to-back is hard. This is a tribute to our guys, who have been ready to play in every game. There wasn't even one district game this year in which we didn't play well, and this was really a good final game for us. Hopefully, we'll go into the playoffs with some confidence.
